This is the sister quilt. Kris’s sister made the quilt and the quilter would not quilt it because she said her machine was switching poorly. Sew she took it apart resewed it and still the same problem with her quilter. Sister gave the quilt to Kris. She took it part and brought it to class instrips😳. At that time Kris had not been quilting very long if at all. We thought about it and sewed it back together from the center out. Added a few wedges and look at this beautiful Heart. This has a lot of blood, sweat and tears. It was a group effort and it is outstanding. Sew don’t ever give up.

Hey everyone, this Sunday is my Skinny Pineapple ruler class. There are a few spots left. This is a great way to use up scrap fabric, you will need lights and darks. No mediums. Sew come and join the fun. Rulers are at the counter. Just ask for one.

🇺🇸 Get Fired Up for Freedom! It’s time for the 2026 OQB Patriotic Quilt Challenge!!! 🇺🇸

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with our Patriotic Quilt Challenge! Quilters of all skill levels are invited to create a one-of-a-kind quilt OR small project using three patriotic-themed fat quarters provided by the shop. Add your own fabrics to make it uniquely yours—we can’t wait to see how you bring the red, white, and blue to life!

General Rules

Participants can purchase the challenge kit for $12.00, which includes 1 fat quarter for each of the 3 challenge fabrics. On the day of purchase, participants can choose to buy additional patriotic themed fabrics for 10% off (does not include blenders, solids, or the challenge kit).

All entries must use a visible amount of ALL 3 challenge fabrics on the front of the finished quilt.

Entries must not have any name visible on the quilt. OQB Staff will assign your quilt a number and take your name.

All entries must be submitted by Wednesday, June 18th, 2026, close of business.

Rules for Making a Quilt

Finished quilt size must be a minimum of 56” in perimeter and a maximum of 220” in perimeter. (Perimeter is the total measurement of all sides. Example: A quilt measuring 50” x 60” = 50” + 50” + 60” + 60” = 220” in perimeter).

All quilt entries must be finished (hand or machine quilted and bound.

Rules for Making a Small Project

A small project refers to any project that is NOT a quilt. Example: Purse, apron, clothing, pillow, etc.

All entered projects must be completed.

Prizes

OQB Customers will vote anonymously but will provide OQB staff with their name to ensure no duplicate voting occurs.

Voting ends Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, close of business. Winners will be announced Wednesday, June 24th, 2026. Quilts and projects can be picked up anytime after winners are announced so you have your items in time for the 4th of July!
