We have a bit of a thing for natural stone. 🤍

These pieces were created in Turkey and shipped over specifically for this project because we wanted them to feel completely unique to our clients’ home. The variation, texture, and movement are what make natural materials so special. No two pieces will ever look exactly the same.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And lately, Europe has been giving us some of the most beautiful stone options. Consider this our official request to bring a larger suitcase on the next sourcing trip. 😉

We like our showers clean.

Give us a shower with personality, beautiful stone, thoughtful details, and a little drama. Just maybe skip the endless grout lines that require a toothbrush and a free Saturday to keep looking fresh.

Accessories are the finishing touches that take a room from “pretty” to pulled together.

A coffee table book, a sculptural object, a little greenery, and maybe one perfectly unnecessary bowl. The trick is layering just enough to make the space feel collected, without making it feel like every surface is trying too hard. 😉

Tasteful layering is all about mixing height, texture, and shape while still leaving a little room to breathe.

Opening our new design studio has truly been a dream come true. 🤍
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We finally have a space where our team can create, our clients can feel inspired, and our vendors can stop by and spread out samples without taking over an entire conference table.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The best part? We wanted the studio to feel like us. Layered, textural, warm, and a little unexpected. After years of seeing the same white IKEA shelves everywhere, including in our own space, we were more than happy to chuck them in the dumpster and start fresh. 😉

We love designing with color.
 Black is a color. Cream is a color. Taupe is absolutely a color. 🤍🤎

Not every room needs to shout to make a statement. Sometimes the most elevated spaces are the ones that layer warm neutrals, rich textures, and just the right amount of contrast.

Designing never sleeps, but don’t worry, we always answer our clients. Eventually. 😉

Between samples spread across the studio, floor plans open on the screen, lighting schedules being finalized, furniture pieces being sourced, and about 47 tiny details living rent-free in our brains, sometimes “sorry, kinda busy” really means “sorry, designing.”

The pretty final reveal may look effortless, but behind the scenes, there is a whole lot of creative chaos, problem solving, and very intentional decision making happening at all times.

Lighting is the jewelry of a home… except this jewelry also helps you see when you’re making coffee at 6am and trying not to ruin your life. 🤎☕️

I will never understand spending thousands on a beautiful space and then adding one sad b**b light from aisle 12. Lighting sets the mood, highlights the textures, creates dimension, and honestly? It can make or break a room.

A good fixture is doing double duty:
• functional enough to actually light the space
• beautiful enough to make people ask where it’s from

One of my favorite parts of every project is layering lighting because it completely changes how a home feels. Cozy corners, dramatic shadows, warm glows… yes please.

Moral of the story: don’t skimp on the thing everyone notices immediately. 👏

Smith Interior Design proudly partners with Cahill Homes on a Golden Oak home renovation project blending timeless design with a touch of Disney enchantment.

Inspired by the elegance of the neighboring Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney and infused with the whimsy of Disney’s signature magic, this home holds many unique surprises.

From hidden doors and a custom recreation of the iconic Disney Chinese Theater to a treehouse-inspired office space, each space tells a story.
