Proof of life 🌸

After a very strange, cold, dry spring here in Orlando, the flowers are finally responding well to the extra sunshine and return to warmth. While our farm didn’t see significant freeze damage, the cold did delay our bloom times slightly, and we’ve been pivoting to get things back on track.
*
On Sunday night, we made the tough but necessary decision to push the first CSA back by one week to give the flowers a little more time to bud and bloom. A quick walk through the plot last night confirmed my instincts - the snapdragons, campanula, delphinium and statice are all setting bud, while the Ammi and agrostemma are hitting stride. It feels good knowing the beauty will finally return soon and we can’t wait to share it with our CSA members.

Speaking of CSA, there’s exactly 6 spots remaining TOTAL between April and May. We hope you’ll consider joining us! Thank you to everyone who’s already signed up - we couldn’t be more grateful for the support after this tricky season ❤️

Anemone moment 🧿
*
I’ll be honest - I’ve not had great success with anemones in past seasons, and like ranunculus, they’re fussy at best in our climate, usually demanding more care and resources than makes sense for us in our tight growing space. But, last summer I ordered a wild mix of exotic varieties just to play, because I mean, why not - and boy are they showing off. They’ll never be a farmable flower for us, but post surgery, to have them be the first to greet us this spring, I’m not complaining. Can’t wait to tuck these beauties in our first CSA bouquets of the season next week 🌸
*
It’s also always interesting to realize where my head was at 8 months ago when choosing varieties for the season ahead - this will be the year of purple in its many hues and shades. I hope y’all are ready 😅🔮

Sharing a little brightness to get you through the week! 🌸

Never thought I’d say it, but I’m grateful for the little patch of ranunculus right now while the rest of the farm continues to wake up from its chilly slumber. Lots of blooms are starting to bud up - only 3 more weeks until flowers 🌷

Signs of spring 🌷
*
Been quiet here lately while we live in a cycle of watching, waiting, preparing and adjusting through the last few bouts of cold windy weather in Central Florida. The good news with the exception of a little freeze burn, everything survived the harsh conditions a few weeks back and is putting on growth with the warming weather from the past couple days. We’re pivoting and holding our breath (hopefully) one last time this week while we watch the forecast drop again. Even though our space is small but mighty, we will be happy if we don’t see another frost cloth until December.
*
The ranunculus and anemones are blooming and happy through the cold, so there’s that! Plus, there’s still a handful of CSA memberships hanging around waiting for their flower-loving people! Check out the website to learn more! We are so grateful to everyone who’s signed up so far and hope you’ll consider joining us this season 🌸

Spring CSAs and Valentines Updates! ❤️🌸
*
Spring is officially in the air, and we couldn’t be more excited to turn a corner on winter and look to the rainbow of color soon to adorn our little farm!
*
With Valentine’s Day just a week away, we wanted to share a gentle reminder that our Spring CSA Memberships are still open with increasingly limited availability for the season. By signing up for one of our Spring CSA Memberships, you and your loved ones will receive flowers not just one day of the year, but for an extended portion of the season - and who doesn’t love weekly flowers?! 💐
*
Our Seasonal CSAs are a true celebration of locally grown, seasonal flowers in Central Florida. CSA Memberships support our urban farm, helping us invest and grow season to season. They also make great gifts for the flower lovers in your life! We offer several 4-week and 6-week options, with all CSAs available for local pick-up ONLY with our friends at in College Park.
*
As in years past, CSA memberships have limited availability, and spots continue to fill up quickly. Be sure to check the farm store to see what’s still available. If you have any questions about the CSA, visit our seasonal CSA and FAQ pages before signing up. 🌸

January musings 💜
*
I spent my 38th birthday in nature - extended time in some of my very favorite places since my surgery. My birthday also marked 4 months to the day since surgery. Things are still clumsy, weak and painful at times, but getting better. When I returned home, the anemones were blooming. Perfect stars of lilac blush streaked with amethyst and violet. So far, between the ageratum, first shortie campanula and the anemones, purple seems to be the color of 2026.
*
Some say the color purple can represent many things, including creativity and wisdom, mystery and magic. Not sure if I feel wiser this year, but I definitely feel called back to the slow magic of working with my hands and living a creative life. Funny how subconsciously the flowers always signal the way.

Newsletter subscribers: Keep an eye out for an update on our Spring Flower CSA and Valentine’s Day soon. Until then, sending you all love this week. 🌸

First cuts of 2026 💜
*
I’m not going to lie - when I sowed these ageratum back in October, I knew it was a little silly, since they’re more of a warm season annual here. It would definitely be a toss up if they made it through January without being nicked by a frost. So far we’ve been lucky here in Orlando with cold, but there’s a lot of January left to live. Still, I’m really happy I planted a small patch of these funky weirdos to bring a little joy so early in the season. Seeing their cute little blooms really made me smile last night after being cooped up for so long. I hope they make you smile too!

Winter shifts and seasonal dreaming 🌸

A glimpse of the main plot currently, full of early spring blooms, lovingly planted by . I’ll be tucking in a few last items this week and then sowing an extra tray or two for our home space before fully embracing year’s end and a time of gratitude and rest. I’m finally walking-ish again, but still taking things slow. Perspective is everything right? Cheers to the last few weeks of 2025.
*
A gentle reminder that our 2026 Spring CSA memberships are available and open for sign-ups on the farm store. The May 6-week has ONE more spot (!!) and the March 6-week is close to selling out as well. THANK YOU, to all who have already supported the farm and registered. The CSA memberships make the best gifts if you have flower lovers in your lives this holiday season. Take a peek and we hope you’ll consider joining us (or gifting a membership) next spring! 💕

My sweet friends got married this weekend, and I could not be more obsessed with these gorgeous photos capturing their day (and flowers, of course!).

I get emotional when I think about the relationships that flowers have gifted me since returning to Orlando 6 years ago. To be a part of my friends’ lives through the art of flowers feels so special. How lucky am I to witness these moments.

Season of gratitude 🤍
*
A belated thank you to everyone who supports our little flower business. From our CSAs to weddings and everything in between. We hope you all made time to slow down and appreciate the things that really matter with friends and family last week.
*
I wanted to share a special wreath I had the honor of creating recently for friends who decided to leave Orlando in search of new adventures elsewhere. It is a combination of their beautiful garden bounty and ours - a tapestry of the little details that have woven our lives together over the years. There’s even remnants of their wedding flowers - the first wedding I ever did after returning to Florida 6 years ago. I won’t wax on about what being asked to create this meant to me, sharing it now feels like a better way to give thanks for the small magic in our lives.
*
Wishing you all a wonderful week 🌸

In honor of planting out the lisianthus this weekend, a look back on last season’s pretty pastel harvest. Things are rolling and as always, I think this coming season could be our best yet. 🌸
*
Our main plot is nearly planted out for early spring, and I’m working on getting a newsletter out this week with more information on our spring CSA memberships and how to sign up. Spots will be limited this year - make sure you are on our mailing list so you don’t miss out! And if you know someone who you think would love our flowers, give them a heads up, too 😉💛
