For my girlies! Here is a video tour of my latest van build (yes, I’m in my pjs 😂)

While it is for sale, I’m sharing this with you all to hopefully inspire some creative ideas!

The woman who took this video does nothing but tours and sells converted vans and RVs, and she told me my build was by far the most efficient! 🎉

Here’s the thing about a lot of van builds you will see - they are visually STUNNING but NOT beginner friendly or even as efficient as they could be!

If you are building out your own van, and you aren’t a professional carpenter, keep it simple! Utilize every inch of your space and design it to cater to YOUR needs! Follow this, and you will LOVE your vanlife journey! I promise 😊💖

Van Build Maintenance checklist - requested by Becky Hilton 💖

Good morning ladies! I love that this was requested because it’s actually very important! I found a great one online that I’m sharing with you here:

But I actually have a couple things to add!

- wash the underneath of your vehicle when near the ocean to avoid rust

- clean your solar panels to ensure efficiency

- clean your ceiling van screen to remove debris and avoid build up of dirt

The website already mentions this but I wanted to repeat it because it is sooo important - use a dehumidifier! If you need a link for a small one that won’t drain your electric system, let me know below and I’ll share a link for the one I use 😊

Allow me to reintroduce myself!

My name is Cassandra and I am an interior designer and carpenter.

I always loved interior design but I was determined to learn how to build foundations too. This was a difficult field to break into because I’m a woman. I went from shop to shop asking them to take me on as a student. They always said they wished they could but they couldn’t because I would be a distraction to the male workers or because I’m too small. Sigh…

After a lot of searching, I finally found a place that didn’t judge me based on gender or size! Hill Country Tiny Homes, a tiny home building company that was featured on HGTV! Pretty cool!

Several years, several van builds, and countless spaces later, here I am! Ready to help guide more women in creating their dream space, no matter the skill level ❤️

Let’s talk beds!

When I first started my van build, I could not decide what kind of bed I wanted! I went through 3 different kids - a slatted pull out bed, a fixed bed, and a convertible bed.

Convertible ended up being the best choice for me, but it did take a little more effort. The extra space was worth it to me, but because I’m fairly lazy at heart, I came up with a design that allowed me to have fixed or convertible, while still being able to access all of my benches!
