Leveling a house from the inside is definitely easier… but it also teaches you to keep chill because not everything happens overnight 😅

Between reworking joists, subfloors, floor levels, and constantly checking everything with a laser level, there are so many little details that go into getting it right.

A remodel will humble you fast, but learning to take things one step at a time honestly makes the process so much better.

And finally seeing progress makes all the chaos feel worth it 🤍

Some of the houses in my neighborhood ✨🏡

One of my favorite things about walking through historic neighborhoods is how every house has its own personality. The colors, interesting elevations, porches, trim details, shingles, arches… even the quirky little windows. It makes a street feel warm, layered, and full of charm.

I also love when newer homes are designed to fit the feeling of the neighborhood instead of ignoring it. It keeps the character and soul of the street alive while still feeling fresh and updated.

As a designer, I’ll always love homes that make you stop and look twice 🤍

Apparently this vintage Silver Cross pram once belonged to the Jenkins family and somehow found its way into our chaotic little 1930s fixer upper while we prepare for baby 🤍

Currently kitchenless… and somehow thinking about it more than ever.

I keep imagining the feeling I want when I walk in—warm, layered, a little nostalgic… like it’s always been there. And the one thing I’m completely set on? An interesting tile floor.

Not perfect, not plain. Something with movement, with contrast, with a little attitude. Checkerboards, inlays, worn stone… the kind of floor that grounds the whole space and quietly steals the show.

Because in a world of white boxes… I’ll always start from the ground up.

Last week I quit my job. It wasn’t easy, but I knew it was time for something new.

Coming back to Colombia always reminds me who I am. Family, roots, color, beauty… it grounds me and inspires me every time. 🇨🇴✨

Meanwhile, back home the 1930s fixer upper is in full chaos mode. We’re demoing the back of the house to level the floors from the inside.

Funny how life can feel like it’s falling apart and coming together at the same time, in the best way possible 🏡
