702 Lighting's new Turtle Safe MSDPRO, adjustable path light modules are in stock now!
Ships on TURTLE MODE, but can be adjusted to 2700K using their patent-pending MSDPRO/CCT functionality during the off season. 🐢
When set to TURTLE MODE, this path light module emits a wavelength of between 590-595 nm, above the lowest threshold of 560 nm, to be considered "wildlife safe".
Why is this important? 🐢
Animals like sea turtles rely on the natural light of the moon and stars reflecting off the ocean to find their way. Bright, white artificial lights can lead them away from the sea and toward roads, swimming pools, or predators. Turtles are most sensitive to short-wavelength light (blue/white). So by using long-wavelength bulbs that emit amber, orange, or red light (typically 560 nanometers or higher), you can ensure you're doing your part to keep the local wildlife safer!
So for all those coastal properties, especially along Florida's coast, make sure you remember the turtles, and switch to TURTLE MODE lighting!
