I have been collecting, rescuing, selling, trading and gifting books and ephemera for over 50 years.
Most of my "rescues" of old books were by word of mouth.
I worked with friends, coworkers and local libraries to save books from the dump and recycling bins.
I have found new homes for hundreds of thousands of books over the years...
Last year I ran across a young man with a plan to make rescuing unwanted books much easier!
He has set up a nationwide service for book lovers to easily find a new home for their treasured tomes.
The service matches owners with local "Pick Up Partners" who will collect these books.

Subject: Mystery Solved: 1952 "Timeless Stories for Today and Tomorrow" Cover Artist Identified
Fellow collectors,
After decades of the 1952 Bantam edition of Timeless Stories for Today and Tomorrow, edited by Ray Bradbury, being listed as having an “unknown” cover artist, the mystery is finally solved.
I examined my first-printing copy and found Charles Binger’s signature on the back cover, tucked under the hourglass illustration in the "wraparound" artwork. The signature is small but fairly clear. The signature matches that on the cover for "Space on My Hands," and several other works.
This conclusively verifies that CHARLES BINGER painted the 1952 Bantam cover - an attribution that had long been suspected but never proven.
Please update any catalogs, listings, or bibliographic databases you maintain.
Spread the word so this credit is preserved for future paperback and Bradbury scholars.
