Meet Michelle, owner and Master Designer here at Bluegrass Chic ๐ฉต
Before flowers, Michelle was an EMT and a part-time firefighter ๐ฉ๐ผโ๐ Sheโll tell you she didnโt really leave that world behind when she found floral design. She found the same calling in a different form.
Both are about showing up for people when it matters most, staying calm when things get a little chaotic, and knowing how to make things work. Turns out, those skills come in pretty handy on a wedding day, too. ๐
Born and raised in Kentucky (Go Big Blue ๐), Michelle grew up watching Martha Stewart and working in the garden with her mother and grandmother, surrounded by roses, peonies, and hydrangeas ๐น
Years later, after moving to Florida, she found her way into floral design and learned the craft hands-on. That experience became the foundation for the Bluegrass Chic we know today.
Her favorite flower? Lilacs ๐
A lilac shrub grew beside the first home Michelle bought herself. Every April, sheโd sleep with the windows open and wake to their scent each morning.
To her, lilacs became a reminder of how beautiful the world is and that she can do anything she puts her mind to.
Michelle loves being involved in the designing planning and dreaming that happens long before the celebration. From the first idea is to watching everything come together, the process is just as exciting as the finished product.
Fourteen years, hundreds of weddings, and two kids later, her favorite wedding-day moment is still the same: watching a bride hold her bouquet for the first time ๐
That reaction never gets old. And neither does getting to make it happen. ๐ซ
