This is a design rule I break all the time for my clients.
Before you panic, here are a few ways I've helped clients make it work.

A TV above the fireplace isn't always the design disaster the internet makes it out to be. In fact, for many homes, it's the most practical and sometimes the only option.

The secret isn't avoiding the TV.

It's the architectural presence around it that makes the entire wall feel intentional.

From proportion and scale to built-ins, mantel selection, and placement, there are plenty of ways to make a fireplace and television coexist beautifully.

This project has stayed on my mind since the first design meeting, and seeing the final install come together makes it clear why. There is a real, specific satisfaction in watching a client's inspiration sketch evolve into a permanent, structural reality.

For this space, we paired a bespoke leg profile with our Pearl Honed finish. I love how the matte, tactile surface grounds the room—it adds a layer of textural depth that balances those airy, off-white walls perfectly.

It’s one thing to see a design on paper; it’s another to see how the stone holds the light in a finished home. This isn't just a surround; it’s the architectural soul of the room.
