Today marks 2 weeks since surgery, and my stitches are out! ❤️
No glamour shots here... just another doctor's office update. 😄
Honestly, this post feels a little like déjà vu from 18 months ago after my first shoulder surgery. The good news is that this one was much less extensive. My surgeon cleaned up the labrum, AC joint, and bursitis, and removed part of my collarbone to help eliminate the bone-on-bone irritation caused by the repetitive movements my job requires.
While they were hoping I could avoid physical therapy this time, my range of motion isn't quite where it needs to be, so PT is officially on the schedule for 4 weeks. My doctor's orders are to do what I can tolerate and keep working on my range of motion. I'll go back in a month so they can check my progress.
I'm actually okay with that — I need this arm in tip-top shape for what I do. Another step in the right direction, and I'm feeling very hopeful that this was the missing piece behind the recurring pain.
Time will tell, but for now I'm grateful to be moving forward. 🙏❤️
