This has been a really fun build for one of my sons. They wanted a 24" L x 24" W x 3" Thick butcher block just like the one I built for myself 2 years ago. So I started breaking lumber down last week and this massive book matched, end grain board is ready for glue up!!

Black Walnut, with Beach wood stripes.

Big shout out to Ryan Aldrich who does all my laser work, for hitting his mark on this unique piece!! Not only capturing Steve Vette's 50th Birthday but the amazing 32 mile canoe trip down the Ausable River in Grayling Mi. Leaving from Penrod's Canoe, staying 17 miles down stream at White Pine Canoe Camp, and finishing 15 miles down stream at Parmalee Bridge! Amazing laser work my friend!!

This really was a really cool build that started with one of my best friends turning 50yrs old. I decided that during a canoe trip down the Ausable River from Grayling Mi. that it would be a perfect time to give him his gift while at spike camp making dinner. and The shape definitely matched the theme!!

This was a neat job for my sister. She had been given this serving tray as a gift from her daughter Megan Myles and it broke into 3 pieces just from wood movement on its own. She brought it to the shop and I was able to salvage it, and restore it to as new condition. 😊👌🏽Hope it last a lifetime Summer Myles ☀️
