There’s something special about bringing history back to life.

This staircase has been part of the same family home for over 100 years—and like many old homes, it had taken on years of wear, including paint splatter and time hidden under carpet. What was once overlooked is now a true focal point again.

After the carpet and staples were removed, we sanded and hand scraped everything down, and cleaned up all the old paint drips to reveal the original wood grain underneath. We finished it with Special Walnut stain, bringing out the warmth and character that had been buried for decades.

Projects like this aren’t just about refinishing wood—they’re about preserving stories and craftsmanship that deserve to be seen.

This platform in our showroom had seen better days—old linoleum tile, peeling layers, and zero character. So we tore it all out and rebuilt it the Correct way.

We installed solid hardwood using a mix of widths and species including maple and red oak, then finished it with a natural coat to let the true beauty of the wood speak for itself. The result? Clean, timeless, and full of life.

This home has quite a story. After a fire a few years ago, the homeowner took her time to thoughtfully redesign every detail and truly bring her vision to life and we were honored to be part of that journey.

We installed and finished 6” red oak, bringing it all together with a rich dark walnut stain that adds depth, warmth, and character to the space. The final result is a bold, timeless floor that perfectly complements the new design of the home.

In the early rounds, Mr Clean had this floor against the ropes but Correct Hardwood hit him with a 2 piece combo of a screen and a fresh coat of poly and knocked the “Bald Brawler” out for the count!!!🥊
