My first attempt at self- finishing. Lessons I learned:
1. For your first piece, start with a simple shape. A heart is NOT a simple shape.
2. Cording is not meant to cover open canvas because you cut your board too big. And glued the canvas on. And can't fix it. 🤦‍♀️
3. Make sure you don't cut too close to your stitching. Another thing that can't be undone.
4. Act like a grown up and be patient.
5. This is going to take some practice.

Almost finished with Murray Antoinette's portrait! This is my favorite needlepoint canvas of all time. My momma painted him for me and it is something I've treasured working on. I almost don't want to be finished stitching him - like a good book, I don't want this canvas to end!

Happy Mother's Day to my Momma !! This foxy lady gives so much of herself, and is a pillar of strength. She's been through some stuff over the last few years, and she still gives and gives, loves, inspires, and sets a wonderful example of how to keep your head held high. She sets aside her emotions to take care of the rest of us. She shows Christ's love, and is resilient. "People can try to bring you down, but the cream always rises to the top." One of my favorite things she's said - and something she models daily.
