To Our Old Mango Community~
It is with a heavy heart and an abundance of gratitude that I share the news of our store's closing. Over the years, we have built not just a business, but more importantly a community—a community brought together by shared stories, creative moments, smiles, and countless memories of love & support.
Our family will walk away from this chapter with full hearts, gratitude and a big, beautiful extended family. From the very first day, you welcomed us with open arms, and together we created a space filled of beauty, creativity, and heartfelt connections. I am deeply grateful for the trust, loyalty, and support you have given us, which transformed our little store into a cherished part of the OP community.
The decision to close our doors was not easy, and one of the hardest decisions Trevor & I have had to make. As we had our first ever winter break since opening our doors, our path became more and more clear. Balancing a flourishing design business and a retail store doesn’t leave much room for work life balance. I have always said, this is a good problem to have as it means the past several years have been successful.
As we began to formulate a plan for work life balance, rising costs that have begun to occur in our economic climate became a huge concern that we could not ignore. We cannot rationalize passing those inflated costs on to you nor can we afford to absorb those costs which now make this decision our reality. For a young business to absorb such inflation and uncertainty is just not possible. Other small businesses will be facing this as well and now more than ever they will need your support.
Downtown Overland Park was the perfect choice for our little shop and it’s community feels like a small-town reprieve filled with warm smiles and that Midwest charm that is palpable. Trevor & I will continue to serve and be a part of the Downtown OP. Courtney will continue to serve on the DTOPP Board & Executive Board. Over the past several years design has quickly become a key focus of our business. Courtney will transition to a full-time design focus.
We are currently scheduling our last few weeks filled with sales, events and of course hot coffee served by Trevor.
As our winter break ends and the store reopens, we will begin phases of our closeout sale beginning this Saturday, 3/22 . More details to follow via email and social media.
Though our brick and mortar will soon close, it will always be my dream come true and the relationships we have formed with all of you will forever be my fondest memory. Each conversation, every shared laugh, and all the support have made this journey incredibly meaningful. As we prepare for closure, please know that the spirit of this community will remain a guiding light in all our future endeavors.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives. We will carry your support and kindness with us as we turn the page to a new chapter.
With heartfelt gratitude and warmest wishes,
Courtney & Trevor
