The classes are very small (1-2 students)and offer the enthusiasts and the professional the skills and floral knowledge they are looking for. 🌿 3 things every Protea lover should know before feeding their plants!

If you want happy, healthy Proteas, this one’s for you. 💚🪴🌸

🪴 1. They Love poor soil. Forget rich, heavily fertilized soil. Proteas are adapted to nutrient-poor conditions, often thriving in sandy, well-drained soil.
🌱 2. Their roots are pretty incredible. Their specialized cluster roots help them access nutrients from the soil and decomposing organic matter.
⚠️ 3. Phosphorus can be their downfall. Unlike many garden plants, Proteas are highly sensitive to phosphorus and can suffer from toxicity when exposed to too much.

💚 The takeaway? Don’t assume more fertilizer means more flowers! Choose your soil amendments carefully, and avoid phosphorus-rich fertilizers.

A flower with a whole mythology behind it… 🌷💫

Did you know the Protea was named after Proteus, the Greek god of the sea who could change his form whenever he wanted?

And honestly… what a fitting name for a flower that represents so much of what it means to evolve.

The Protea symbolizes:

✨ Transformation — becoming who you’re meant to be 💪 Strength & courage — standing tall through the hard seasons 🌈 Uniqueness — no two blooms are exactly alike 🔥 Resilience — some varieties can even bloom again after wildfires

With 1,500+ species, the Protea is basically nature’s reminder that there’s no one “right” way to bloom.
