A few little close ups of the mural along with the story behind each store.
The Nap Mat Nook- a little nod to red hall which is the home to littlest commodores! (Pre K and kinder!) here you can shop the most comfortable essentials for naptime after a long day of learning!
First Stop Toy Shop- our first graders on orange hall may not be babies anymore, but they are still kids and need time to play!
Evangeline’s Flower Shop- this is my favorite.. i prayed over this building and asked God to help me make it as special as Evangeline was to the Commodore community. With the help of her Mom, I added little bits to make it HERS. The color blue (her favorite color and also mine!) lots of plants (as though they were picked straight from Evangeline’s Garden) magnifying glasses (her mom shared a sweet detail with me saying that she always was outside exploring and looking for bugs through her magnifying glass) and 3 cardinals. For Matt, Evangeline, and Lincoln. Because I just know they are together exploring Heaven.
Rowland’s Safety Center- no one keeps our school safer than our very own Officer Carothers! Outside that building we have a sign reminding Commodore LN how to be safe. And a bulletin board where fellow Dores have pinned memos, reminders, and found items.
The County Market- this is Commodore’s lane’s Hobby Lobby. A nod to our AMAZING activity teachers! Here you may stop in to buy art supplies, the best books, electronics you might want to take apart and rebuild, musical instruments , or a new ball to try out a new sport.
LES Cafe- I mean… the mural IS in the cafeteria. And what street is complete without the best Cafe in town?

A few additions are still “under construction”
Second Step Rentals- (a hot air balloon rental place for a biggest commodores who will be sailing across to the main campus to tackle 3rd grade and beyond)
Lafayette Landing- this is still in the drawing books but I’m leaning towards a Grove feel.
Red and Gold Theater- not your typical theater but a movie at the park vibe.
And a TON of other random but important additions. Every department in our building will be represented in one way or another. It takes a village to run our school and commodore LN will hopefully reflect that and also add little color and happiness to school!
