It features a single serpentine-front top drawer over a large lower cabinet door, sitting on classic curved cabriole legs. Before indoor plumbing, these compact cabinets were placed in bedrooms to serve as washstands. The flat top would hold a ceramic pitcher and basin, while the lower cabinet discreetly stored a chamber pot.
