This is a bas-relief plaque depicting Jesus knocking on a door, an iconic image inspired by the biblical verse Revelation 3:20: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me." Meaning of the Imagery Missing Handle: A famous characteristic of this artistic depiction (originally popularized by William Holman Hunt's painting, The Light of the World) is that the door has no outside handle or latch. This symbolizes that Jesus will not force his way into a person's life; the door can only be opened from the inside by the person within. The overgrown vegetation climbing up the brick wall and the side of the door often symbolizes neglect, suggesting that the door has remained shut for a long time.

This is an antique Victorian tiger oak washstand commode from the late 1890s to early 1900s. The striking, wavy patterning across the drawer and cabinet fronts is known as tiger oak (or quarter-sawn oak), highly popular during the Golden Oak era. It features a single serpentine-front top drawer over a large lower cabinet door, sitting on classic curved cabriole legs. Before indoor plumbing, these compact cabinets were placed in bedrooms to serve as washstands. The flat top would hold a ceramic pitcher and basin, while the lower cabinet discreetly stored a chamber pot.

The distinct multi-tiered, turned pedestal base is carved out of genuine green onyx stone (often sourced from Pakistan and manufactured into lighting in Italy). It features its iconic matching red scalloped fabric shade designed in a bell or tulip shape. The edges are highlighted with a textured gold braided trim. These are highly collectible mid-century accent or bo***ir lamps.
