The “Beautifully Scary IV” opening was fantastic!
Let’s do it again! Special gallery hours this Friday, October 23rd from 6-9pm. Visit the gallery and the Pacific Partnership’s Saint Louis Street Block Party “Witches & Warlocks” from 6-10pm. This event is for the adults: Spooky Vendors, Entertainment, Food Trucks & and a Costume Contest.

Thank you to each artist and the many supportive guests who packed the gallery last Saturday with creative conversations & spooky fun. It was a great opening!

Big thank you to the exhibition’s guest judge, Beth Robinson of Strange Dolls.

Congratulations to the award winners:
Cary Horton (Award of Excellence) “Optical”
The Pickled Panda (Honorable Mention)
“Skin & Bones: A Tarot Set”
Elizabeth Ceridwen Art (Honorable Mention)
“Predator Becomes Me”

My pick for Curator’s Choice was “A Nighttime Frolic” by Madeline LaVelle.

Way to go to those artists who sold artwork or art prints during the event: Tate Skinner, Mark Roman & Aqua Visions.

Eat, Drink & Be Beautifully Scary!
Come see the gallery spaces for special event gallery hours 6-9pm this Friday, October 23rd. Visit the block party! Outside food and drink from block party vendors or local restaurants welcomed. We have the glasses, so bring a closed bottle of w**e and we will open it for you. Come hang in our BYOB 420 friendly courtyard for ages 21+. Please designate a driver for this adult street party.

“Beautifully Scary IV” on view in The Gallery at 119 now until November 14th. The Collective Members in 123 have “Oracles & Stories” on display too. Come talk with Blysful Art & Tom Watson this weekend about the stories behind their most recent work. See work on display by Nellasaura Art. Two gallery spaces open Saturdays from noon to 4pm.

Come celebrate the dark art season from 6pm - 9pm on Saturday October 17th at Say Art Studios!

Over two dozen artists on view in two gallery spaces.

“Beautifully Scary IV” is on view in The Gallery at 119 and The 123 Collective Members are showing “Oracles & Stories”. Both galleries open at 6pm!

Enjoy the creative energy, talk with the artists and welcome the crisp Autumn weather with a cup of warmth from Little Ireland Coffee. Dark Roast Coffee, Hot Chocolate and other refreshments will be available to sip the night away!

Artist awards will be at 8pm! It was an honor to curate such a talented group of artists. Thank you to Beth Robinson's Strange Dolls who did an excellent job judging this lovely and certainly wild exhibition. It seems we were both a bit too excited (or feral) on judging day for any “judging day” photos. But, come see our faces and this amazing exhibition on Saturday!

“Beautifully Scary IV” opening on Saturday, October 17th from 6-9PM in The Gallery at 119. You’re invited for an evening of creative energy, meet the artists and enjoy the spooky season! Come view the journey each of these creatives took to explore what is beautiful & scary.

A big thank you to each of the 24 artists who are participating in this celebration of dark art. The exhibition has so much emotion! Powerful. You each truly offered pieces of yourselves to be on view. The show tells a story with an intriguing range of what is lovely, silly, serious, freaky, shocking, precious and certainly horrific. Incredible!

“Beautifully Scary IV” will be on view October 17th - November 14th in The Gallery at 119 East Saint Louis Street in Pacific MO.

Welcome and thank you to our guest judge, Beth Robinson, for agreeing to select the award recipients for this lovely dark art event!

Beth Robinson is a sculptor and mixed-media artist who has worked under the name Strange Dolls since 2003. Her figurative work is exhibited and held in private collections internationally and has appeared in university-level sculpture textbooks and numerous art and pop-culture publications, most recently at Duane Reed Gallery in St. Louis, MO.

Her advocacy for the dark art community is longstanding, and she has always looked for ways to provide opportunities for and shine light on artists working in the fringes and tackling uncomfortable themes. For ten years she curated and ran the annual “Art of Horror” event at S.P.A.C.E. Gallery in Vermont, alongside invitational shows like “Conjuring, She Rises,” a feminist exhibition held on the anniversary of the Salem Witch Trials, and “Husk,” an exploration of parasitic relationships. More recently she curated “Broken Hearts” in Missouri and judged the mixed-media exhibition “It’s All In The Mix” at Artisans in the Loop.

She maintains a regular studio practice in Saint Louis, Missouri with her trusty companion, a taxidermy coyote named Toby. You can find her work online at www.strangedolls.net.
