It’s Au Revoir, not Adieu
The French have a few unique ways of saying Good-Bye – Au Revoir is “until we see each other again” and Adieu is literally “To God’.
It’s been slightly over a year since we opened the World of Crafting storefront in Paducah. Through that time, things were looking great, and we were absolutely positive about the future direction of Global Artisans.
When I got stuck in Canada due to immigration issues (which shouldn’t have happened, and ended up being resolved only due to the local Congressman’s office) – it began a 7 month series of trials and tribulations.
Taken individually, nothing was insurmountable – but collectively, it has caused so much harm to the company that we’ve been forced to make some extremely difficult decisions.
Last Monday (July 22, 2024), I surrendered the keys to the World of Crafting physical storefront. It is not a goodbye to Paducah – there are opportunities in the future that we have been working diligently to secure. Paducah is simply on hiatus.
We made the decision to focus on what we have done best for 15 Years – Shows, Online, and Wholesale.
We are going to refocus our attention on what made Global Artisans a name of renown across the crafting industries: House of Embroidery, Roseworks Embroidery Designs, and, Vinnis Colours. There are some amazing things happening with these groups that can only serve to strengthen them, and us.
While we step back and retrench … we think the best strategy will be to get back to shows in October – starting with Houston.
I would personally like to thank each and everyone of you for all the support we have received, and continue to receive. We look fprward tp seeing everyone again.
So, as the French say … it is Au Revoir, not Adieu.
