It's been a long time since I posted here. I still love to make jewelry, but shortly before the pandemic, someone saw my drawings and I got pulled into the fine art world. I was showing my work in galleries, and had won several awards before Covid shut everything down here. I still love jewelry, and I will continue to make it, but for a time my focus had to be elsewhere. This underscores a problem I'd been having, and which I'm now trying to manage.
For some time I've been fighting with having too many sites, and too many social media accounts. When things would change, work in one area would lag, and a site or account would fall neglected until new work was created. I took some advice I received early-on, and kept each of my side hustles and interests separate, and what I wound up with was a confusing tangle and an identity crisis, lol!
Further complicating issues, I was forced to officially retire the Tangles, Twists and Treasures name after the pandemic. I was doing shows under that name, and had banners and equipment with the branding, but the pandemic closed down shows and galleries, and effectively put me out of business for two years. It doesn't make sense to continue using this name.
A few months ago, I decided to take the plunge and consolidate all of my stuff into one location under the name Ib Visual Arts. My artwork, handmade goods, jewelry, game development and community will have one central hub.
I will keep this page up for historical purposes. I was part of the Bsue Boutiques jewelry class, and I know that Bsue tends to point new students towards previous work. For that reason this page and the Wordpress site for Tangles, Twists and Treasures will remain up but inactive.
My focus will be on the new website, and the Discord I recently opened for the community. If you're interested in fine art, crafts, game development, gaming, writing, or any other creative endeavor, I hope you'll join us. We've already got a thriving creative community of folks who discuss their work, and help one another with tips and tricks. I'd love to see you all there. It comprises many of my closest friends and family, as well.
I'd love to hear your feedback on these new locations. Please come find us at:
