Glare across a monitor. One side of the office baking every afternoon. A row of windows that all look a little different. Offices have their own light problems.

This office got cellular shades that keep the light even and the look consistent from one window to the next, without turning the space into a cave.

If you own a business or manage a property in Flagler County, we handle commercial work the same way we handle homes: Bobby or Michael measures, recommends honestly and installs. One window or a whole floor.

Bobby got into the window covering business in 1985: sales, installation, even manufacturing. Then he did something most people only daydream about. He spent eight years sailing around the world with his wife and kids.

When he came back, he built Best Blind Guys as a fully independent shop. No single manufacturer to answer to, so the advice could always be about what fits your home. Today he runs it side by side with his son Michael, who left an engineering career to join the family business.

Plenty of companies say “family-run.” This is what it looks like.

If you'd like the cord question off the table completely, plantation shutters are one of the simplest answers.

There's no lift cord anywhere on them. You tilt the louvers for light and close them for privacy, and that's it. Nothing hanging down for a toddler or a cat to get tangled in, and a classic look that works in a lot of homes.

This is the first time we've shown shutters here, and it won't be the last. Wondering if they'd work in your home? We'll come take a look.

It's Customer Service Week, so here's ours in one sentence: when you call Best Blind Guys, you get Bobby or Michael.

Not a call center, and not a scheduler who hands you off. The same two people who come out to measure your windows are the ones who hang your shades, and the ones you call if something ever needs a second look.

Family-run since 1985. Have a question about a window in your home? Give us a call.

Some rooms need soft daylight in the morning and real privacy at night. Dual shades (you may have heard them called zebra shades) handle both with one shade.

They're made of alternating sheer and solid bands. Line up the sheer stripes and the light filters through; shift them and the room closes up. Clean, modern and easy to live with.

Swipe through a few rooms we've done. If you're not sure they're right for your windows, that's what the free consultation is for, and we'll tell you honestly if something else would work better.

October is National Window Covering Safety Month, which makes it a good time to look at the cords on the blinds and shades around your house.

Older corded window coverings can be a real hazard for young children and curious pets. The good news is that the fix is usually simple, and the safer options look every bit as good.

All month, Bobby and Michael will share practical, no-nonsense ways to make your windows safer, from cordless shades to shutters with no cords at all. If grandkids visit or there's a new puppy in the house, this month's posts are for you.

Saturday project inspiration: this Flagler County great room went from bare windows to this. Ripple-fold sheers, hung to reach the vaulted ceiling instead of stopping short — it's a small detail that makes the whole room feel taller.

If a project like this has been sitting on your list, weekends are actually a great time to get a free measure done. We'll come to you.
