Our VIP Day of Design last Thursday included a panel discussion with Federico Contigiani and Ray Booth. The conversation was insightful, candid, and full of practical takeaways from two talented professionals who have built remarkable careers in our industry.

The day concluded with a book signing with Ray Booth, providing a wonderful opportunity to connect one-on-one and celebrate the launch of his beautiful new coffee table book. I was thrilled to have my copy of The Expressive Home signed by this rockstar designer.

Somehow, the day also allowed for time to explore the year-round showrooms at Las Vegas Market. There is simply no substitute for seeing furniture, fabrics, lighting, and finishes in person which what makes Las Vegas Market such a valuable resource for designers.

Thank you, Hickory Chair, for a memorable day. It was even more rewarding than I could have imagined.

Never thought I’d see the president of Hickory Chair take a box cutter to a beautiful and perfectly upholstered chair and literally peeled back the layers to show what makes quality furniture worth the investment. Equal parts educational and entertaining, it was a masterclass in craftsmanship.

The second CEU at Visual Comfort focused on the power of lighting. From light levels to color temperature, we explored how the right lighting can either make the design - or kill it.

Thanks Hickory Chair and Visual Comfort - I loved the opportunity to learn & earn from CEUs (Continuing Education Units) and the VIP Day of Design did not disappoint.

Back at Las Vegas Market for a whirlwind 36-hour trip and a VIP Day of Design hosted by Hickory Chair.

So much of this industry is built on relationships, and it was wonderful to reconnect with old friends, meet new ones, and exchange ideas with some incredibly talented (and fun) people.

Lucky for us, they acquired it from the previous owner when they purchased the home - and everything else fell into place from there.

Hard to believe how much progress has happened since our first visit to NOLA in March. Our project is moving fast with an incredible team of architects, contractors, designers, and one very special client.

I MADE THE LIST!!!
Well… sort of.

The “Fun House” was featured in Palm Springs Life as the most expensive home sold in Cathedral City in 2025 - they just forgot to mention the designer behind it. 😉

This was one of my favorite projects for my fabulous New Orleans client and the first of three homes we created together. It features bold colors, fearless personality, and our favorite Gucci Tiger wallpaper - all designed to feel like a private resort.

Our client got a kick out of the article and told us, “It’s all because of you.” Now THAT is the COMPLIMENT that matters most.

Seeing this property recognized is such a proud moment for Design Vision Studio.

Big milestone this morning!

I met Allan on Zoom for the first time today. He runs a boutique graphic design studio in central London specializing in book design, project management, and art direction for publishers.

I’ve officially hired him to transform my Design Schooled™ draft into an artistic and stylish book.

I couldn’t be more excited about this next chapter. (Yes, pun intended)
