Why A Japanese Home Goods Store? The partners behind the store, Darrell Baum and Osamu Sagara, visit Japan every year to visit family. They so love their travels and experiences in Japan that they wanted to bring it back to their home in Palm Springs, CA to share with everyone.

What is Wabi Sabi? In a few words, Wabi Sabi is about the "impermanence and imperfection" of Japanese art and design.

After eight unforgettable years, the iconic Hello Kitty Shinkansen made its final journey on May 17, 2026, leaving millions of fans emotional across Japan. From Shin-Osaka to Hakata, the pink-and-white bullet train wasn’t just transportation — it became a symbol of joy, nostalgia, and comfort for travelers, families, and Sanrio lovers worldwide.

Crowds gathered at stations one last time, waving goodbye as the legendary train disappeared down the tracks forever. Operated by JR West since 2018, the themed train carried around 1 million passengers and turned ordinary trips into magical memories filled with ribbons, smiles, and kawaii charm.

Its retirement marks more than the end of a tourism campaign — it’s the farewell to one of Japan’s most heartwarming railway icons. The aging 500-series Shinkansen will soon vanish completely by 2027, making this goodbye even more painful for longtime train enthusiasts.
