All set for the Wi******er Farmers Market tomorrow and what a great harvest I have to share! Everything looks and tastes amazing, thanks in part, to this incredible weather. Here’s what I’m bringing:
Sweet peas (they are delicious), snow peas, beautiful bouquets (with peonies!), a few baby carrots from thinning the row, Veronica cauliflower (also delicious and tender), Golden Acre cabbage, leeks, garlic scapes, 3 varieties of beets, candy onions, Encore Spring lettuce mix, crispy Romaine, arugula,Japanese wasabi radishes, & free range chicken and turkey eggs. Honestly, it is all so delicious right now…it doesn’t get much better than this.

Side note: even the pea shells are tender and sweet so I cooked them lightly, puréed them with garlic and butter and used it on pasta with the lightly steamed peas and some Parmesan. Yummy!

Tomorrow’s wedding at Spindletop is going to be just lovely. I used a lot of creative license with the candelabra centerpieces and can’t wait to see them on the tables with all of the candles lit. Many more floral pieces to show… I often get so busy the day of a wedding I forget to take pics, so here are a few items still in the cooler. My apologies to Wi******er Farmers’ Market friends/customers… I can’t get to the market tomorrow but will be there next week with all kinds of amazing goodies. The gardens are busting at the seams after all of this rain.

I have a second wedding on Sunday at Hill n Dale Farm that is the polar opposite of this one below. It will be vibrant colors of wildflowers and I’ll try to remember to take pics. I have a third wedding and am doing a couple of pieces for our “coffee family” friends at the market and am honored they asked me to do the work. I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial weekend (keep your umbrellas at the ready) and my best to the brides and grooms!
