She’s gonna be so mad, but here goes. Today we celebrated another retirement. And as thrilled as I am for her, I’m not totally sure how you “celebrate” chopping off your right arm. In the summer of 2001, I graduated college and started work at a desk beside a beautiful curly-haired brunette with the warmest smile, who’d just begun working there a few months earlier. Twenty-five years later, we’ve celebrated births, grieved at funerals, and supported each other through a few of life’s hurdles that we don’t have to revisit today. We’ve laughed til we cried, and also made each other so dang mad that we cried. And now, I will have to work on removing the automatic phrase “I don’t know, ask Terry” from my vocabulary. 🤪

Some of us veterans made her take pictures with us today, but she loaded the car before I could catch her in her sash and crown. 👸🏼 There aren’t enough words to say how much she will be missed, but I’m so glad she gets to sleep in Monday morning and see her grandbabies anytime she wants. Thank you for putting up with us (mainly me) for 25 years, we love you Terry!
