Hi, crafty friends! 🧡 Apparently, I’ve been making my to-do lists with the confidence of a woman who has a housekeeper, a personal assistant, and absolutely nowhere to be. 😂🤦‍♀️

I keep hoping to hop on here and craft with you, but life and my pile of unfinished projects keep getting in the way. Then I stress about not being here… which really adds a lovely finishing touch to the chaos! 🤣

So I’m asking for a little grace while I catch up. I don’t want to keep promising a crafting date and leave you hanging. I’ll share projects whenever I can, and the patterns and templates will still be FREE. 🧡

Please don’t forget about me! I’m still here.. probably under a pile of wood scraps, chasing a squirrel with a glue gun. 🐿️😂

In the meantime, here’s a little pumpkin inspiration! 🎃 I’ll put the free templates in the comments again so you can get yours started… and possibly finished before me. At this point, that’s a very real possibility! 🤣

Life stopped for a day and a half because my granddaughter needed her Candy Princess costume, and apparently Lala’s boutique offers emergency royal services. 😂🍭👑

It took a sleepover at my friend’s house (my other daughter-in-law’s mom), help from her mom, and enough candy decorations to open a little sweet shop… but LOOK HOW CUTE! 💜

Now I just need to finish her lollipop wand by midnight, get some sleep, and ship this sugary masterpiece before work in the morning. Nothing like giving yourself a deadline that requires both a fairy godmother and overnight shipping. 🤣📦

The house can wait. We have royalty to dress! 👑🍬

Well… my little doodle turned into a whole bucket of ghouls! 😂🎃👻

Here’s my doodle with a little color added. Apparently, I can’t draw just ONE spooky friend—I have to invite the entire neighborhood. 🤣

No room for candy in this bucket… just a bunch of characters who look like they’ve been asked to leave the Halloween party. 🖤

One more Halloween cutie to share with y’all before we’re off to the next season! 👻🎃

My house is in disarray, the home projects are waiting, and Lala has a VERY important assignment: my granddaughter’s Candy Princess costume! 🍬👑 That has moved straight to the top of the list. Tomorrow’s goal is to get it finished… which would probably go better if I actually started it. 😂🤦‍♀️

Maybe I’ll hop online and show y’all what I’m making, but we’ll see how the glitter, glue, and my attention span cooperate!

Hi crafty friends 🥰

I owe you all some crafting time! I had every intention of making this crow project with you, but my laminate floor took one look at my plans and said, “That’s cute.” 😂

I added approximately 47 side projects, the floor is still unfinished, and I’m back to work today. The floor won this round. 🫠

But I wanted to share some inspiration for the free crow pattern I shared, along with the pieces and stencil I had gathering to make it. 🐦‍⬛🖤

Kim: “Why do I never get anything done?” 🤔

Also Kim: Moves cabinet to continue laying the floor… sees old alarm box behind cabinet…

“Well, I don’t want THAT there!” 😂

And just like that, we’re removing an alarm box, wandering through the basement looking at wires, wondering why the humidifier doesn’t work, and questioning a random light switch.

I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DOING THE FLOOR. 🤦🏼‍♀️
Now the wall has fresh drywall mud, the floor is still in progress, and I’ve started one more project that wasn’t even on today’s list.

But in my defense… it was a BEAUTIFUL squirrel. 🐿️😂

Anybody else move one piece of furniture and accidentally start a whole renovation?

Kim: don’t even think about that light switch, stay focused….😂

Hello, crafty friends! 🎃

I’ve already spotted three shiny nickels and about ten squirrels this morning… so that should tell you how my brain is working today. 😂 Somehow, between distractions, I managed to make y’all a cute little pumpkin pattern AND a scalloped square backing board!

Here’s how I printed mine:

🎃 Pumpkin: PORTRAIT
🖨️ Scalloped square board: LANDSCAPE

Printing the board in landscape gives you a bigger platform for your pumpkin. If you print both in portrait, the backing board will be too small. See? I had one useful thought today, and I’m sharing it before a squirrel steals it. 🐿️🤣

Grab your free patterns! At some point this week, we’ll make this together, and I’ll show you what to do with it. I’ve got a few crafts planned in between working on my floor, bathroom, and beadboard… apparently I think six days come with about 400 hours. 😂

Oh! And I’m planning a floor video, too. Come for the crafting, stay to see whether I finish a project before starting three more!

I’m a Capricorn. Apparently there aren’t as many of us… we’re limited editions! 😂♑️

Now, if you count backward nine months… nope. We’re not going there. This is a flooring post. Stay focused, Kim. 🤣

I can’t speak for all Capricorns, but THIS one is a world-class procrastinator. I’ll get it done… right after coffee and seventeen unrelated craft projects.

But guess what, crafty friends? I FINALLY got back to my damn floor! The hardest part was fixing the subfloor BY MYSELF (and a little help from Dad and FaceTime) and that part is DONE! There was measuring, muttering, and language you won’t find on a “Home Sweet Home” sign. 😂

Then I thought, “While I’m at it…” Famous last words.

The plan was to bring the plywood up to the hardwood and lay laminate through the whole freaking kitchen, living room, hallway, AND dining room. Apparently I don’t believe in small projects. Just small breaks that last several months even years..🤣

I’ve got a little more prep work over the next couple of days, and then I’m going to show you—for REAL this time—how I’m laying this floor by myself.

Come for the flooring. Stay to see where I put the tape measure I was holding three seconds ago. 🔨

Hello, crafty friends! 🎃🖤 Sorry I’ve been missing for a bit—I promise I haven’t flown off on my broom! 😂 Life has kept me busy, but I’ll be back soon to craft with you.

In the meantime, look at Mom’s newest little spooky drawings! Those crooked smiles, patches, and sweet little faces… spooky has never looked so cute! 🥰 I just love all the personality she puts into them.

Thank you for sticking around and keeping our crafty little corner cozy while I’m away. We’ll be making a mess with glue and paint again soon! ✂️🎨

Hello crafty friends 🥰

My Monday musings….🤔

I want to share a little bit about why I give away my images, stencils, and patterns. ❤️

I created Tattered Designs because I love to craft. I always have. I used to do craft shows, making all kinds of original pieces big things, little things, furniture, giant snowmen, and whatever else I dreamed up to make a home or porch feel cozy. Creating makes me happy. It always has.

So when I come up with a design I love, I want to share it with you. I’m here on a free platform, doing something I love. Why wouldn’t I share some free stuff while I’m at it? 😂

I want this page to be a friendly little community where we can learn, laugh, and craft together. You don’t have to buy anything to join in. Grab a free pattern, make a little mess, and show me what you create!

I know giving away my designs isn’t the choice every creator would make, and that’s okay. This is the choice that feels right for me. My images, stencils, and patterns are free for your personal use because sharing the joy of creating is what makes this fun for me. ❤️
