🇺🇸 Did you know my favorite holiday has always been Independence Day?

When I was growing up, my Great-Grandma hosted a family picnic every year. We'd watch the small-town parade, spend hours at the carnival, and catch up with cousins we hadn't seen in forever.

But one tradition left the biggest impression on me.

Before the celebrations, we'd visit the country cemetery to clean and decorate the graves of soldiers. As a child, I listened to stories of service, sacrifice, courage, and love of country. I remember feeling honored to play a small part in remembering them.

For me, Independence Day has never been about politics.

It's about home. It's about family. It's about gratitude.

It's remembering those who sacrificed so that generations after them could live freely. My family has a long history of military service, and those values were woven into the fabric of my childhood.

Every firework reminds me of those summer days, those stories, and the people who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. ❤️🤍💙

All Saturday sew days require something delicious nearby… and today it was homemade GF vegan lemon blueberry muffins. 🍋🫐✨

The day was spent cutting fabric for my next project, chatting, laughing, and soaking in creative time with my daughter. Honestly, those are the moments that matter most to me — slowing down, making something with our hands, and simply being together. 💙🐝

There’s just something about fresh fabric, a cozy sewing space, and warm muffins that feels like rest•refocus•connect in real life.
