This is what today looks like! 🐝🧵

I’m inventorying a beautiful estate-sale collection—and discovering that the majority of it is vintage and out-of-print Thimbleberries fabric by Lynette Jensen for RJR Fabrics!

For longtime quilters, Thimbleberries may bring back wonderful memories. These warm florals, calicos, plaids and rich, earthy colors helped define that collected, cozy-country style so many of us still love.

It may not be new and shiny, but that’s exactly what makes it special. These fabrics are little pieces of quilting history—and true treasures for the Cozy Cottage projects swirling around in my head! 🏡✨

Ugh…when did I turn into the woman who takes a selfie from the couch with her glasses sliding down her nose and a tapestry hanging behind her? 😂

Apparently, today. So, in honor of fully embracing her, here are five things about me:

1️⃣ I’m Bethany—the creative chaos behind The Blue Bee Boutique, which I started in 2018.

2️⃣ I’m part of a retired Army family. After 26 years of military life and more than 15 moves, we landed in Parkville, Missouri. I’m still finding my footing here—but I’m finding it one stitch, sale and new connection at a time.

3️⃣ Craig and I have four grown children, six grand-littles and dogs who are convinced they are my coworkers, emotional-support staff and upper management.

4️⃣ My decorating style is best described as “eccentric eclectic with cozy-cottage tendencies.” I love bold color, meaningful treasures, modern quilts as art and rooms that make you breathe a deep sigh when you walk into them.

5️⃣ I believe creativity is about far more than making pretty things. It helps us relax, refocus, connect—and sometimes pivot when life doesn’t follow the pattern we carefully planned.

I’m a fabric shop owner, quilter, kit curator, teacher, military wife, mom, mimi, dog person and professional starter of entirely too many creative ideas.

And apparently, I’m now also this woman. Honestly? I think I like her. 💙🐝

A little behind-the-scenes peek at the method—or madness—of a Blue Bee Whatnot LIVE! 😂🐝

Fabric stacked, ring light ready, cords everywhere, bubble wrap multiplying across the floor…and apparently I’m running the whole operation from beneath a quilt! It’s called creative management. 🤷‍♀️🧵

Today’s quilting life lesson:

When your longarm decides your quilt needs a little more “texture” than you requested…don’t cry—pivot! 😂

This quilt is a celebration of my dad’s life, so I guess I’ve simply been gifted a little more time with it. Time to breathe deeply, grab the seam ripper and lovingly remove approximately 47 miles of thread. 🧵

Because sometimes the plan falls apart—and sometimes the stitches do, too.
