Inasmuch as I think I'm in retirement mode others think differently. This time I was off to Coral Springs to an ole friend of many years home. Sweet kind lady that leaves you alone so I can do my thing. In hindsight they all should have been that way. Introduced me to another lovely neighbor that was equally as kind. Guess I'll be heading south again. Who's kidding who I got to see my daughter and my granddaughter and still made it home before the street lights came on.

I woke up this morning to pouring rain ordinarily it doesn't matter, not today though, you might have guessed it (had some carpets to clean today in the neighborhood). I was asleep by 2 thank God for afternoon naps!!

Did a neighbors house the other day for some exercise,travel time was was quick, chemical consumption 4oz. Appreciation factor big,clean up time short, 2 hours of BS a guy thing. Ahhhhhhh that's retirement.

Restoration companies are making there way to the west coast of FL to aid in the clean up of many hundreds of homes that can use their expertise. The work is monumental by the scope of what can be saved,restored and brought back to some sense of normality. As for myself that type of work was misery work I never like or wanted to do on the scope that's ahead of that type of devastation. Guess I retired just about the rite time. My thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. Like I used to tell my customers "There's a beginning and an ending to everything" progress comes slowly.

As retirement is working somewhat I still get calls saying [ when you coming down here again] today's that day I go south to see family, friends and dirty carpets. The summer heat just has to go away also.

As much as retirement is a wonderful thought I still see value in what I know in helping others (as I'm on my way to the pool).This week that came true, an old friend called and needed an off white carpet fixed because a competitor couldn't get the required results. Fact of the matter the carpet browned out and they didn't remove the pet marks(twice). Experience has its teacher Just the same I do miss the one on one. Customer definitely saw the difference.

Here's a thought, after 35 years most every one of my friends have moved out of Broward County. We all talked about it at some time or another. Most are scattered around the state with no I'll feelings of the life we left behind. We all talked about it and kicked it around for years. Pan American carpet cleaners has evolved into a few places here and there to clean, just the same I miss the one on one with people. However life is just fine here in PSL.
