Our next digital stop on the pre-Art Harvest Tour takes us out to Woodward to visit Shari Janssen at Creations Looming!

Follow Highway 141 until you reach 170th Street. This short, curving stretch will take you to U Avenue and lead you right to Shari’s long driveway. As you make your way up the drive, be sure to wave to the cows and peacocks before parking near the main house!

Next up, we’ll be sharing a closer look at the artist, so you can get to know her work and discover what she’ll be bringing to this year’s Stop on the Art Harvest Tour.

The Art Harvest Tour is coming up September 26th & 27th. The map has just been released. There is a whole new town added and that is awesome that the public gets to see all the talent in the country!

If you are coming from Des Moines it would be easy to make my studio your first stop and then follow it around the loop. Wherever you begin just make sure you stop by to say Hi!

I took a class with a fellow artist Megan Hammer and we made felted bowls. It was such a fun class and so fun to see what your creation will look like when it is complete and dry.

If you have a chance visit Megan Hammer Art at Mainframe Studios on First Friday at Mainframe Studios, or stop by her booth at the DSM Art Festival and tell her Shari sent you! You can even check out her FB page. You won't be disappointed.

I was accepted in the 16th Annual Art on the Prairie Festival in Perry on Saturday & Sunday, November 14th and 15th. I had a great time last year and looking forward to this show once again. Mark your calendars!!

I had to write an artist bio, I have been weaving for 18 years!! How in the heck did that even happen. Dan Bell this is all your fault, so Thank You! I am never bored and always learning!

The DM Weavers & Spinners Guild challenge this year was S.A.B.L.E (Stash Accumlation Beyond Life Expectancy). The guild made up bags of fiber for, 4 shaft, rigid heddle, tapestry, Inkle weaving and spinning. We were to take a bag create something and NOT bring the leftovers back to the guild. We could use more fiber but we could not discard anything..

I had a small amount of blue chenille and a skein of 5/2 hand dyed tencel in my 4 shaft bag. I decided to use it on my rigid heddle loom where I could design as I warped it. I added a yellow chenille to help. I made a scarf or shawl.

With the left over yarn I made a little basket or nest in this case for Peter Rabbit.

All the members did an amazing job and if you would like to see more stop by Fiberfest April 25th. There will be a guild display.
