Creations Looming I love to weave rugs, towels, scarves and other household items. The weaving world has gazillions of patterns and I would love to weave them all.

I weave rugs on a 4 harness LeClerc loom. I use recycled materials such as, upholstery remnants, jeans, t-shirts and bed sheets. I also make scarves using various kinds of yarns.

I am loving this!Any quesses what it is?

I am teaching two Rag Rug Classes thru the Des Moines Weavers & Spinners Guild in October. I will have the looms warped and ready to go all you have to do is bring whatever material you want to use to make a rug. I will show you how to prep the material, get started and end the rug. You will go home with a nice rug that you made.

The class will be offered on Saturday October 11th or Thursday the 22nd. Please click on this link for more information and how to register. https://www.desmoinesweaversguild.org/learn/classes

Our next digital stop on the pre-Art Harvest Tour takes us out to Woodward to visit Shari Janssen at Creations Looming!

Follow Highway 141 until you reach 170th Street. This short, curving stretch will take you to U Avenue and lead you right to Shariโ€™s long driveway. As you make your way up the drive, be sure to wave to the cows and peacocks before parking near the main house!

Next up, weโ€™ll be sharing a closer look at the artist, so you can get to know her work and discover what sheโ€™ll be bringing to this yearโ€™s Stop on the Art Harvest Tour.

The Art Harvest Tour is coming up September 26th & 27th. The map has just been released. There is a whole new town added and that is awesome that the public gets to see all the talent in the country!

If you are coming from Des Moines it would be easy to make my studio your first stop and then follow it around the loop. Wherever you begin just make sure you stop by to say Hi!

I took a class with a fellow artist Megan Hammer and we made felted bowls. It was such a fun class and so fun to see what your creation will look like when it is complete and dry.

If you have a chance visit Megan Hammer Art at Mainframe Studios on First Friday at Mainframe Studios, or stop by her booth at the DSM Art Festival and tell her Shari sent you! You can even check out her FB page. You won't be disappointed.
