Meet our founder, Isabella D’Alessandro!
A UC Berkeley graduate with 10 years of experience working alongside recognized landscape design firms throughout the Bay Area, Isabella’s work has always been rooted in a deep appreciation for nature, materials, light, and the way people experience a space.
Her background spans landscape design, lighting design, writing, and floral design, each shaping the thoughtful, layered approach behind Summer Archive.
Summer Archive was born from Isabella’s own memories of summer. Time spent at her grandmother’s home in Folsom, California, surrounded by gardens, swimming, gathering, and the simple joy of being outside. Those memories shaped her belief that the spaces we create can become part of our stories and stay with us for generations.
Today, Summer Archive is about creating those spaces for others. Designing landscapes that bring the feeling of a summer vacation home, while creating places where families can gather, celebrate, slow down, and build memories of their own.
It is about creating legacy spaces. Places that grow alongside the people who live in them and become part of a family’s story.
Summer Archive is also the next chapter of Isabella’s floral practice, carrying forward the legacy of Belles From Mother, the floral company she previously founded and owned. She hopes to return to the floral space through an artistic lens, creating sculptural floral installations that blur the line between flowers, objects, and art.
The best landscapes aren’t just designed to be seen. They’re designed to be felt.
Welcome to Summer Archive. ☀️
