*broke: The Affordable Arts Fair

*broke: The Affordable Arts Fair All *broke events are free to the public, and *broke vendors commit to presenting their wares for less than $50.

*broke is a curated multidisciplinary arts event presented by The Glass Museum, that has taken place in Peterborough, NH three times since its inception in 2008. The *broke philosophy is simple: art is for everybody. Previous events have showcased the work of many artists who work in the Monadnock region, as well as folks from New York City, Philadelphia, & San Francisco. *broke always takes place

before an excellent night of music, and it is often right in the middle of The Thing in the Spring weekend.

Ann Putnam is a printmaker from Wilton, NH. She follows the 160 year old tradition of Letterboxing by carving tiny rubber stamps, hiding them in public spaces, and leaving clues to lead others on a treasure hunt for art where one can make their own print. For Broke, she has expanded on her tiny stamps to create embellished hand pulled prints, snarky buttons, and upcycled Greta Thunberg t-shirts. A limited number of Harriet Tubman stamps will be available, as well as stamp carving kits and Letterboxing kits for aspiring adventurers of all ages.
The original Harriet stamp will be available for stamping any $20 bills for free.

A Letterboxing Hunt will be going on throughout the weekend of Broke! Come to Ann Putnam's table for the free booklet with clues to find the hidden stamps in downtown Peterborough. Letterboxing is free!
