For as long as I can remember I’ve had a fascination with unique furniture & decor. Scoping out marketplace and resale stores like it was my job… oh, wait. Now it is 😉 I’d have an entire warehouse full of beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces if I could ( ).

There’s no better way to create coziness, warmth & intrigue than mixing old with the new. If you agree, then I may be the right designer {and friend} for you 😉

Rainy days don’t always have to 🟰 dreary days.

Ever heard of “rainy day interior design”?

Well, it’s exactly as it sounds. Rainy day design is an aesthetic focused on creating cozy, calm, and moody spaces that feel like a protective sanctuary created with neutral & earthy color palettes, layered textures and ambient lighting making dreary days feel inviting and warm.

I was so honored to create this type of space for my most recent clients in their Harbor Springs home. This haven was created not only to collect books, but a space to gather to play games, do puzzles, write in your journal and/or snuggle up to read a book when the sun is not shining and summer outdoor activities are not on the agenda.

I sure wish I could’ve spent the day here today 😌

And, that’s a wrap ✨ The Mariners Point Retreat project is finished and I’ve got all kinds of feeeels.

With this being my largest, quickest project to-date, there is certainly some relief from working during my last trimester of pregnancy, having my baby girl and grinding all of postpartum. But, man. What a wild ride. And what a special place in my heart this home holds 🤍

I will forever be grateful for this opportunity. Though there were some very long days & nights pulling this together, I found so much JOY in designing this home and I think it shows 😉

From space planning to paint colors to finishes to furnishings to softgoods to decor… this home craved it all and I was honored to be handed the keys & trusted to make this white box house a “home” for the past six months.

I can’t wait to share ALLLL the beauty inside.

📢 DON’T WRITE OFF RESALE STORES.

You never know what gems you’ll find and how well they’ve been taken care of. This walnut curved arm side chair had zero rips, stains or scratches and matched my goal style… not to mention it was a fraction of the cost buying new!

Even as a more modern interior designer, I still source a number of pieces from resale & thrift stores. There is so much more beauty in a piece that has a story and has been built to last the test of time.

Can’t take the vintage out of this girl.
