Omoi Life Goods Omoi is a life goods & stationery select shop operating in downtown Philadelphia since 2006. WHAT IS ZAKKA? Say it like "zah-kah." Feels good, doesn't it.

WHAT DOES OMOI MEAN
Pronounced like "oh boy", the first part of our name comes from the Japanese word (ๆƒณใ„) loosely meaning โ€œthoughts and ideas.โ€ This word omoi is nuanced with feelings of hope, consideration, and sincerity. It's an "I've been thinking of you" kind of sentiment that's at the heart of every item you'll find with us. Zakka is a kind of mundane object imbued with tremendous personal appeal. Some zakka are designed to be that way from the start, and other zakka become that way because you love them. A clock, a bag, a pencil case, the mug you drink your tea from, the incense burner on your dresser. Zakka are things that become the necessary items in your day to day life. They make you feel happy about your space, your life, your look.

Presenting: Candy Apple Comics with her newest issue, Navel Gazer! Visit OMOI on Friday, October 9th, 2026 from 1-6 PM for a pop-up event with Philadelphia cartoonist Candy Apple Comics. She will be selling her comics, stickers, pre-loved books, and a closet sale as well.

Candy Apple Comics is a Korean-American, primarily self-taught cartoonist, writer, and artist based in Philadelphia! Their art leans towards autobiographical, but they also love adaptation and re-contextualization of classical source materials. They draw a lot of artistic inspiration from cartoonists like Andrew MacLean and Caroline Cash along with Japanese anime. Greek and Roman mythology, poetry, and literature also feature in some of their work due to my undergraduate background in English Literature, Latin, and Ancient Greek!
