There is simply nothing like the love and light that comes from community. A few weeks ago, that light filled the room as I hosted my first (of many) Endometriosis + Adenomyosis Awareness Wellness Event; a Sunday Well Spent, in every sense. It was a day filled with community, healing and honoring local non-profit .co founded by my dear friend and now guardian angel, Jenneh Rishe.
The diagnosis journey can be long, isolating and painfully misunderstood. Like so many women, I spent more than 7 years waiting for a proper diagnosis and care. From experiencing symptoms in elementary school to only receiving diagnoses after the pandemic, the women's health world needs to do better.
After having countless excision surgeries to manage living with excruciating pain due to endo and as of most recently a hysterectomy to cure my adenomyosis - I promised myself I would create the spaces i once needed. Spaces were women feel believed, supported and safe.
Being well enough to host this event, curated entirely through collaborations and sponsorships means more than I can ever express.
To for cohosting, every sponsor who said yes and every woman who showed up: THANK YOU.
We were blessed enough to provide each attendee with their own yoga mat, a custom yoga mat scrunchie from , an embroidered sweat towel from & this most insane gift bags to extend the self care for more days to come.
