Meet Chakir, Philadelphian by way of Morocco.

Since 2007 Chakir has worked in Philadelphia’s historic Jeweler’s Row, selling unique engagement rings, creating custom-order pieces and learning how to repair and maintain fine jewelry. Combining his experience in the United States with a love for his homeland, he created Chakir little Marrakesh bazaar. Each item is hand-picked and imported from local artisans in Morocco. ich leathers to intricate jewelry boxes, every piece in this collection is a small part of a long tradition of Moroccan craftsmanship. About Chakir:
Chakir was born in Ouarzazate, Morocco, and immigrated to the United States when he was 20 years old He learned English while working for a local grocery store, earned his degree from Temple University, and now divides his time between his jewelry store and his passion — running. Chakir volunteers every morning with Back on My Feet, a rehabilitation program that trains homeless men how to run. He became a local celebrity in his current home of Philadelphia ,.
