The dining room might just be my favorite room to design.

By nature of how we live today, it’s often not the everyday eating spot. It’s where we gather for special dinners, holidays and hosting — but I love that it can be so much more than a place for a formal meal.

For us, it’s the puzzle spot, the laptop catch-up hub and, unfortunately, the mail dumping ground… so let’s call that last one the “organization zone.” 😉

Whether it’s a big family meal, a night with friends or just an excuse to mix up the everyday routine, the dining room is a place to gather, linger, laugh and, of course, Eat!

I’m curious — how do you use your dining room when you’re not dining?
Is it a room you use a lot, or just for special events?
Hot tip- we find if the room is beautiful and warm, you’ll want to spend time in there.

So much of our work is centered around creating bespoke pieces that serve our clients specific needs. Got a large curvy kitchen window? Cool, we will design and build you a fabulous curvy dining banquette. It will be comfortable, it will be cleanable, it will be fabulous.

And it’ll be made locally by artisans we know and trust!

Growing up, I lived in an old house, and my bedroom was tucked away on the third floor beneath the roof eaves. Those slanted ceilings made it feel like the coziest little hideaway, and I’ve had a soft spot for “attic” bedrooms ever since.

Want to turn the cozy factor all the way up? Wallpaper EVERYWHERE.

For this Chestnut Hill project, we leaned into a timeless blue-and-white palette and wrapped the walls and ceiling in this beautiful pattern. The result feels classic, layered, and incredibly inviting.

Got a room with too many doors and windows? Add a mural! This girls room has five doors and we are loving how our pattern continues onto the door panels. We are still deep in construction mode with many, many layers to go… but already it feels like an enveloping, happy space. 🩵🌸 🐦 🌹

Crawling out of the work I’m buried under to post a few construction shots from our Easton project. Jessica Nichols has been absolutely crushing it, managing this huge project with hundreds of custom, complicated details. An increasingly rare design request: "No TV." 🙅‍♀️

Our clients wanted a living room dedicated to conversation, cocktails, holiday gatherings, and the occasional afternoon nap. (Ok maybe it was just me that wanted to nap there?)

In a world where every room seems to revolve around a screen, there was something refreshing about creating a space designed simply for being together.
We leaned into classic comfort: a tailored green velvet sofa, cane lounge chairs, warm walnut millwork, layers of blue and green, and lighting that makes everyone look their best.

Nothing too precious.
Nothing too formal.
Just a room that invites you to sit down and stay awhile.

The husband said yes to mural wallpaper on the first meeting.

That's when we knew this project was going to be fun.

This dining room went from traditional and understated to one of the most memorable spaces in the house. The secret wasn't adding more furniture or more decoration—it was creating a destination.

An Italian landscape wraps the walls.

A custom walnut table anchors the room—perfectly scaled for everyday use and expandable when the guest list grows.

A tiger watches over dinner.

And somehow it all feels like it's always belonged here.
Proof that sometimes the bravest design decisions are the right ones.

Chestnut Hill is full of beautiful homes. But beautiful and memorable are not always the same thing.

For Phase 2 of this renovation, we set out to create rooms that felt elegant, personal, and just a little unexpected. A dining room mural that transports you to Italy. A foyer anchored by a glamorous smoking tennis player. A living room designed for conversation rather than television.

In other words, a historic home with excellent manners and a little bit of a mischievous streak.
