Mixing patterns and textures is a fun way to add color and personality to your space. So, how do we make pattern mixing feel luxe and not kooky?

1) First, we use 3D renderings to consider the scale, color, and placement of each pattern.

2) Then, we order material samples to ensure the patterns will work harmoniously.

3) Our designs are inspired by historic detailing, so even modern patterns and materials feel classic and timeless.

In the greater Philadelphia area, Victorian and Federal style interiors embraced dusty blues, warm creams, earthy reds, and saturated yellows to highlight millwork, cabinetry, and architectural details.

Many of these colors can still be seen in preserved historic interiors today. The rich green room at Powel House, the historic blues at Hiester House and Strawberry Mansion, and the yellow and blue interiors at Grumblethorpe all reflect the longstanding use of color throughout Philadelphia’s architectural history.

Historic color palettes continue to inspire both our designs in Philadelphia homes and the paint colors featured throughout our cabinetry line.

In this home, the kitchen was originally located in the basement, connected by stairs to a butler’s pantry and a large dining room above. Multiple stairs met on landings in between floors which wasted space and created complicated engineering for their removal.

Our design brings the kitchen to the first floor, removes two staircases, and combines the dining room and butlers pantry to create a big kitchen with a cozy banquette in the front window. Furnishings, cushions, and window coverings create a layered and colorful space. What is your favorite detail?

Open shelving can make a kitchen feel lighter, more open, and more personal when used intentionally.
The best shelves usually hold the things you use every day. If you place the things you rarely use but want to display beautifully, just be mindful of dust accumulation.

Homeowners often begin the design process by thinking about storage, materials, and fixtures.

We believe a great home always starts with three things: people, nature, and light. That’s why our design team focuses on how your space actually feels—maximizing natural light and creating a seamless flow between rooms.

Would larger windows, wider doorways, or entirely relocating your kitchen transform your daily routine? Let’s start there!

Do you have big dreams for your small kitchen?

Before you start tearing down walls, or budgeting for an expensive addition, consider overflow built-ins in adjacent rooms. Beverage stations, bar areas, wine storage, serving space, and even hand washing stations can all help support the kitchen without expanding it.

These spaces make hosting easier, keep everyday items organized, and allow the main kitchen to function more efficiently. Thoughtful built-ins throughout a home can turn empty corners, hallways, dining rooms, or transition spaces into something both useful and beautiful.

It’s and we found the perfect little house for someone looking to downsize in Chestnut Hill. The curved staircase, bay window, built-ins, and garden are dripping with charm.
The narrow kitchen is filled with windows, but cut off from the rest of the house. It looks like a challenging space to reimagine. That’s where we come in! Our kitchen interior design service uses layouts and renderings to make use of every inch or even consider an addition.
We’d love to strengthen the connection to the garden, maximize storage, and thoughtfully update the kitchen and bathrooms while preserving the home’s character.

Design choices around a range come down to how the space manages heat, air, and structure, whether it is framed in, opened up, or completely rethought.

The range and hood can either blend into its surroundings or make a statement, and that decision shapes the overall composition of the kitchen. Placement also plays a major role in flow, influencing movement through the space and how the kitchen connects visually and functionally.

A kitchen doesn’t exist on its own. It’s part of a larger flow, and we’re always thinking about the views in and out of the room, what you see walking past, looking in, or moving through. It’s about staying connected to guests, being able to talk easily, and how the space feels both when you enter and when you’re standing at the counter working.

We think carefully about what draws your eye. Often that’s the range or sink, designed as a focal point, while larger appliances like the fridge are intentionally tucked away through placement or paneling so they don’t interrupt the view.
