Someone asked me recently the difference between a shabby chic farmhouse finish and a glazed weathered finish.
A farmhouse style finish is painted and distressed.
It is intended to look abused but aesthetically pleasing for a vintage look.
When brushed glazes are added a completely different effect is achieved.
It can be brushed and wiped, buffed, rag tamped among others to produce a look of real decades and century of age and patina.
This photo takes a simple crackle painted farmhouse look to the next level.
