Well, this room has certainly come a long way 😂 — swipe for the before to see just how much it’s changed!

As a guest room I tried to keep things simple and practical, but definitely let my antique flag fly in both the color palette & decor of this room. In fact, pretty much all of the furniture in here was sourced secondhand!

One of my favorite elements of this room is how we played with tones/shades, and is proof that you really don’t need too many different colors to pull a room together. For the most part, this room is variety of oranges, maroons/pinks and browns — woven together in a way that gives the room depth to bring the whole style together.

I guess you could say the vibe I was going for in here was sort of ‘mid-century modern meets Victorian, but make it feminine??’

The velvet curtains add just the right amount of drama to balance the nostalgia of the apothecary cabinet.

Truthfully, this office has seen so many iterations, with each little art piece having it’s own fun story — particularly, the massive oversized Hans Waller oil-painting that was a gem of a find from my beloved Brimfield Antique Shows, though, my pride & joy will always be the solid alabaster bust (early 1900s) from

Soft, simple & serene — that was the goal for this bedroom. Often an afterthought behind main living spaces, bedrooms should feel like a retreat at the end of the day — and I love how much the soft tones of this room accomplish just that.

Color-drenched in SW Morris Room Grey (always, always paint the ceiling), it’s the gentlest gray-brown that serves as the perfect backdrop for these floor length linen curtains.

But the real show stopper of this room? This antique french armoire — truly love how the combination of new pieces + collected pieces can come together so well.

Quite possibly one of my favorite rooms EVER.

Anchored by our love of reading, this cozy little nook off the living room unofficially became our “library” about a year ago with the incorporation of these custom built-ins, but it’s really the wall-to-wall wallpaper, tweed curtains and velvet furniture that gives this room the academic vibe we’ve always wanted 📜

We color-drenched the trim, doors and ceiling to match the built-ins — which was a scary leap at first, but I can’t imagine this room any other way.

Fun fact: one of our hobbies for years now has been to collect historical newspapers — from papers referencing what would come to be known as the Battle of Gettysburg to 1700s printings discussing the Stamp Act, we’ve loved stowing these away; and now, we finally have the perfect spot to display them!

Soft hues that had the ability to feel warm & cozy in the winter, yet light & refreshing in the spring/summer — that was the goal in this room, the room where we spend the majority of our time with our friends & family. Relaxing & unfussy, that was the vibe.

When designing a space I’m always thinking about the adjoining rooms it connects to, and I try to ensure a logical story flows through them all with coordinating color palettes, styles and decor — so blue, green and brown hues were a must, a long with a few traditional elements, while still keeping things feeling comfortable and less “formal” than the adjoining rooms.

The big statement piece of this room (the floor to ceiling built ins) were something we’ve wanted to do from the moment we saw the place — and it still blows my mind how much BIGGER they make the whole room feel. Pro tip: if you are doing any form of custom built ins/bookshelves, always take them all the way to the ceiling!!! Huge shoutout to my husband for building them HIMSELF (with a little help from IKEA 😉), yet another one of those moments where I’m very grateful I married the engineer 😊

Swipe through to see how far this space has come from where it started! A beautiful reminder of how important it is to hang onto your vision.

My initial first impressions of this dining were just how flat & lacking in character it felt.

It’s no surprise I love English & European styles, and I really wanted to bring that classic warmth to this space. There’s just something about the combination of a dark blue paint with wood tones & brass accents that’s never steered me wrong… even if painting the cabinets took twice as long as we thought it would (but what else is new), it was worth it in the end.

We sourced some new pieces like the door handles (the hinge hardware is actually original — it’s amazing what some lemon juice & baking soda can do), the chandelier and the rug; but other pieces like the table & chairs set were secondhand, not to mention the vintage settee which gives it just a certain *je ne sais quoi* 🤌🏼

This room was always the room that never got much use. As our “second” living room with no tv and a fireplace in need of some restoration, it’s a long and narrow room that hasn’t had a clear purpose — until now.

In what started as a two-week project that quickly ballooned into a three-month project, this room has *finally* been given the glow up it deserves to become the coziest living space & office nook.

Inspired by the rich character of Scottish tartans and English estates, we paired coffered wall boxes in a deep brown stain with a plaid wallpaper, and complemented them with color-drenched trim & ceilings in a warm brown/grey tone to create a room that feels like a warm hug — no matter the season (though she sure does glow during the holidays 🌲).

I love the feeling I get when stepping into this room. I immediately feel such a sense of richness and history that it almost feels as if I’m stepping back in time. It feels so unique to us and I couldn’t love it more.

Quite possibly one of my favorite aspects of this project, however, is that nearly all of the furniture was sourced secondhand — from the wingback chairs to tables and yes, even the chesterfield (!!!) I love that we are able to give so many pre-loved pieces new life!
