If you haven't seen our kiln it is something we are really proud of! All of our Logger Manufacturing kids have helped construct or done other things to contribute to this big project! We have been using our Wood-Mizer to cut up wood and the kiln speeds up and helps us dry wood in about 10-17 days.

If anybody is in a search to buy rough cut pine boards we would love to sell to you, so please contact us!

Next up we have Mathias Hoogland!

"First off I’d like to say as being someone who was in the first class of Logger Manufacturing I love to see how the program has grown and developed. It is amazing to see not only where the program is at now, but where it’s going.

I am currently living in Catawba with my wife and soon to arrive baby. I am currently working at Don Johnson Ladysmith Motors as a Service Advisor.

After graduating high school and leaving the Logger Manufacturing program I enrolled in Fox Valley Technical College. There I studied Marketing and received my degree.

As a service advisor I am able to connect with people on a personal level while still being able to work on the technical side of the business. It’s a great fit for me!

Logger Manufacturing definitely played a huge role in getting me where I am today both professionally and personally. The program helped me build my strong work ethic and helped teach me how to problem solve while working with a team. It also gave me confidence, experience and knowledge working with tools and equipment in a hands-on environment, which made the transition into my career much smoother.

One of the biggest things that stuck with me over time is the importance of taking pride in your work and doing things the right way, even when no one is watching.

My advice to current students would be to take the program personally and be the best you can. Take advantage of the equipment and the projects. Show up, ask questions, don’t be afraid to try new things and grow. You never know what skills or experiences will open doors for you down the road.

—Mathias Hoogland"

Thank you Mathias!

If you were in Logger Manufacturing and want to be shown up here please message us! We love getting to see where our former students are now and how Logger Manufacturing has helped them with this job now.

Todays "where are they now".

Hello! I am Lily Miller. I am currently in my second semester of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting at Chippewa Valley Technical College. When I do not have class, I work at a local credit union as a teller.

Although my time in Logger Manufacturing was not spent with the machines and materials, I still gained many valuable skills from the class. I was involved in the social media aspect, communicating with customers, and marketing the products. From those experiences, I gained skills in communication, time management, and problem solving. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to participate in a business-like setting, get connected with the community, and learn real-world lessons from it.

If you are debating on joining Logger Manufacturing, please go for it! It is a fun environment, and I promise you will walk away with more knowledge than you expect. There is something for everyone.

To end up the week we are going to highlight Jason Mulligan! Jason attended Underwater Welding Academy!

"Right now I’m working in the commercial diving industry. It’s been a solid path for me and definitely something I wouldn’t have gotten into without my background in manufacturing.

Logger Manufacturing helped me a lot more than I realized at the time. Learning how to work with my hands, problem solve, and figure things out on the fly has carried over big time into what I do now. A lot of the work I’m involved in requires being able to adapt, understand equipment, and stay calm when something doesn’t go as planned, and those are definitely skills I started building there.

Some of the biggest things that have stuck with me are troubleshooting, attention to detail, and having the confidence to step into something unfamiliar and figure it out. That mindset has probably been more valuable than anything specific because it applies to every part of the work I do.

For current students, I’d say try really to learn the “why” behind what you’re doing, not just how to do it. Even if you don’t think you’ll use a skill, you never know where you’ll end up, and those skills transfer way further than you might think"

Thank you Jason, it is amazing for what you have accomplished and where you are now!

WOW! Yesterdays "where are they now" went over so well that we decided to do another one right away! Today we have Wyatt Vetter who is celebrating a birthday tomorrow! Happy early birthday Wyatt!

I’m currently finishing my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, where I’m pursuing a degree in Business Administration with dual majors in Finance and Marketing. Alongside school, I also own and operate my own handyman / property maintenance business, which has allowed me to apply both my business knowledge and hands-on skills in a real-world setting.

My time in Logger Manufacturing and shop courses provided a strong foundation in practical, hands-on work. Those classes helped me understand the basics of construction, problem-solving, and applying skills in real-life situations, things I still rely on every day in my business.

Some of the most valuable skills that have stuck with me are time management, maintaining a schedule, and effectively communicating with customers. Through Logger Manufacturing, I gained experience interacting with people and understanding how to meet their needs, which has been incredibly beneficial in both my business and academic career.

If I could offer advice to current students, it would be this: Logger Manufacturing and shop courses give you a great foundation of skills, but it’s important to keep building on those skills after high school. Whether that’s through on-the-job training, a technical college, or a four-year university, continuing to learn and grow is vital to success. The willingness to keep improving and adapting will take you far.
