Here comes the idli/dosa batter recipe :
Ingredients :
- 2 cups idli rice
- 1 cup regular rice (I used sona masoori)
- 1 cup split urad dal
- 1 cup poha
- few methi (fenugreek) seeds
Method:
- Mix idli rice, regular rice and daal in a big bowl .
- Mix poha and methi seeds in another bowl.
- Wash them atleast 3-4 times and soak for 8-10 hrs.
- Then grind them using very less water .
- Make a paste of everything and put it in the oven ( I just keep the oven light ON for heat ) . Keep it for another 6-8 hrs.
Fermentation will be according to the climate at your place . So the time may vary .
This is a no fail recipe guys.. I am using this for a long time now and every time the batter comes out amazing and idlis are very soft! π€©β€οΈ
TIP: Always use the room temperature batter for idlis so I use fresh fermented batter before putting it in fridge to make my idlis.
And then you can keep the leftover batter in the fridge and enjoy making the dosas . ππ
