Collapsed on the bed when I got home today…

This last month has been relentlessly busy for me and never really like to admit it but, I’ve struggled to keep up…

How come it feels wrong to ever say anything less than positive??

Well sorry, but I’ve got to be real for a second…

Today my mind, and body told me I was exhausted…felt like I hit a brick wall of feeling sick half way through the day.

But, hanging in there is what I always do. And one day soon I’ll be able to focus solely on my business and say goodbye to my double life of working full time while running my business too.

All the women out there in business… You inspire me everyday to keep it up, hang in there, and keep fighting the fight.

As we edge ever closer to December and 2022 drawing to a close, I can't help but start thinking about the New Year and what it holds for me....what I have planned, what I would like to achieve, and really how I want it to go.

I want to enter into the new year, setting my intentions for exactly what I would like to happen.

I have a few pictures in my mind...(cut to me putting together my vision board ha ha) Law of attraction, yes I'm bought in....

Having my own business is something that I've really wanted my whole life. I've dreamed of being my own boss, having a team of my own, and us working towards my vision...

And if I'm being honest, I haven't been a trouble maker, but I've definitely been restless before becoming a business owner....

Now that I have my business, I can see clearly the hard work you have to put in, the marketing you must quickly become an expert at, the groundwork you have to lay, and thought process you need to have.

But its one of the most rewarding things ever! I don't know where I heard it, but its been said..."It's just about starting" and it's really true. Starting your own business is like stepping on to one of those flat escalators at the airport that get you down the corridor quicker.

You step on...and your away, In full movement and getting somewhere.....hopefully to the gate of where you want to go.

I’m planning on putting my house on the market just before Christmas this year so, this week I’ve been working at freshening up my place and giving the walls a new coat of my all time favourite colour….White!

Adventurous right?!😎😎😎

But I have to say White is my ride-or-die colour to use. This one is my favourite, Its a real designer white called Coconut Juice by Valspar….

I feel like it’s one of the best back-drops for my designs and stages, and really helps me with making my type of styling sing.

I know a lot of people will agree that a fresh lick of white paint is EXACTLY what you should do when you bring your house to market. It’s a Home Stagers top tip! 👍🏼👏

But many people think that’s ALL you need to do…

But painting your house white is not enough to sell it….especially if you want to achieve the most amount possible!

The only way to do that, is Staging your home for sale.

Pattern mixing is always such a great way to add so much interest and style into an Interior Design scheme…

The trouble with it is…so many people lack the confidence to either try it or when they do, they’re just not sure if it works.

But it doesn’t have to be hard!

Don’t get me wrong, there are some things you want to consider…

In most cases, you want it to look like they are speaking to each other, that they have some kind of relationship…

Some easy ways to do this and pair patterns are, the colours you use (obviously) but also look at the scale of the pattern on both…they should be different. One should be smaller (tighter) and one should be larger (more open).

And if you want a fool proof way of pattern mixing, you can’t go wrong with stripes! You can style them horizontally and vertically and they go with everything!

Lets be real, we do a lot more in kitchens then just cook these days...

In Britain they historically have been the room for laundry as well.

But now...(and research shows)They're a place where people like to gather with friends when they come around, end the day with they're partner having a chat over a glass of wine, talk on the phone, have they're morning coffee or tea, help the kids with they're homework, or maybe even work from home themselves...It's a place people want to spend time doing much, much more now.

Bringing the kitchen to life with some key styling pieces will help that potential buyer imagine how they will use the space. Without them, it can lack personality and feel well...just bare bones.

When people say “Mood Board”, It might make you think you need to put an actual board with samples together, or you might think you need to be able to do this on an Ap or a computer program. You don’t!

My favourite way of doing this is physical Mood-boarding. It’s gathering and grouping different pieces together to create the vibe you want.

This will give you direction on both the colours you want to use, and how different textures can work together to form a “Look”.

And, chances are…you will have so many great pieces in your home right now to help you start.
