This is such a great option for a Mother’s Day Gift… there is a reason that momma flamingos lose their vibrant pink color while they have chicks:
She loses her vibrant coloring due to the demands of parenting. When flamingos are breeding and caring for their chicks, they often expend a lot of energy on activities like nest-building, incubating eggs, and feeding their young. This can cause their feathers to lose some of their pigment and appear paler compared to their non-breeding plumage.
She eventually gets her coloring back …but it is such a great visual example of how momma’s put their all into raising their children.
