If you’re a creative like me, you grew up making things with your hands. Painting, cutting paper, gluing macaroni into patterns, turning random supplies into something you felt proud of. Then we got older, and the projects got bigger. Suddenly a wall installation feels serious.

Tile feels super scary.

Paint feels so permanent.

The same creative brain that used to jump right in starts second-guessing every move.😱

Here’s a loving reminder:
This is still arts and crafts! You are taking materials, trusting your eye, learning as you go, and making something your own.

Here’s how I approach a new renovation project:

Start with a project you feel comfortable trying in real life. It might be something you saw online, saved three times, and keep thinking about. (I see you Pinterest lovers!)

Test your materials before you commit, whether that means paint samples, tile layouts, wallpaper swatches, or wood stains. Then measure twice, give yourself room to learn, and start before fear talks you out of it.
