Join us for a family-friendly community day and carve handmade clay pumpkins alongside members of the Police Department! This relaxed, creative morning is all about fall fun, community connection, and making something uniquely your own — no pottery experience needed!

There’s something about the Autumn Leaves Festival that feels bigger than a weekend...

It’s the music, the makers, the food, the families, the familiar faces, and the visitors who come back year after year. This year felt especially meaningful as the festival celebrated its 60th anniversary with a beautiful drone show over downtown Mount Airy.

We are especially grateful for the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce and the tremendous amount of work, planning, coordination, and care it takes to bring an event like this to life. A festival of this size does not happen by accident — it takes leadership, organization, long hours, community partnerships, and a deep commitment to creating something meaningful for the whole region.

At Crisanthemum Studios, we see every day how powerful it is when people choose to show up locally — for handmade work, creative experiences, small businesses, and one another. Our mission is rooted in creativity, connection, and community, and the Autumn Leaves Festival is a beautiful reminder of that same spirit across Surry County.

When Mount Airy, Pilot Mountain, local businesses, artists, neighbors, and community leaders support one another, we all grow stronger.

Don’t miss our Pottery, Pumpkins & Police event this Saturday! 🎃👮‍♀️✨ Join us for a FREE, family-friendly community event at the studio where you can carve handmade clay pumpkins alongside members of the Pilot Mountain Police Department.

This relaxed, creative morning is all about fall fun, community connection, and making something uniquely your own — no pottery experience needed!
Crisanthemum Studios will provide the clay pumpkins, carving tools, materials, and creative guidance.

"I absolutely love painting pottery at Crisanthemum Studios! The pieces are very high quality and change seasonally. The owner and staff are lovely. It always offers such a fun way to spend an afternoon with my mom and sister. We also love to pick up food or a coffee from one of the other local downtown businesses to enjoy while we paint. When I don’t have time to paint something, I’ve also purchased lovely premade items to give as gifts. Cris’ studio is hands down my favorite thing to do in Pilot Mountain!"

We’ll be tasting our way through five distinctive w**es from Orin Swift Cellars, each paired with freeze-dried goodies from Bramble and Butterfly Farm right here in Surry County!

Here’s what we’ll be pouring:
🥂 Mannequin — a bold California Chardonnay
🥂 Blank Stare — a bright, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc
🍷 Abstract — a rich and approachable red blend
🍷 Advice From John — a dark, expressive Merlot
🍷 Palermo — a full-bodied Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
