Mercy! It's been forever since I've posted. Been a busy bee. Tried my first (successful) hollow form. The body is maple (pretty isn't it?). The tope is black walnut and maple. The finial is Russian olive. Note, I managed to get a captured ring there too.

Well Goodness! I haven't posted in a while. Guess I better show off some of my "doings". This is a wine glass set, bottle stopper and cheese plate I made for a door prize for the Pine Haven Gala Dinner. The stems and bottle stopper were out of Russian Olive, the plate from Maple. I do believe I'm hooked on making wine glasses.

After making that first box, I got an idea to turn an offset box. This involves chucking up the ends so it's all wonky (technical term) on the lathe. Then I cut into it. The curves are very gentle but they are there. I'm quite thrilled with how it turned out.

I got into making boxes. Little boxes. These are small boxes to fit in a purse or something like that. Good for holding a sewing kit, pills or whatever small items you want in your purse but don't want to lose. Who knows what all they can be used for. This one is my first one and it is of maple. When I got to cutting it down, it revealed some beautiful grain.

Hi all. Wow! It's been a while since I posted something. I have been doing turning. Just have been busy with other things... like my 20th anniversary to my wonderful hubby Will.

Here's a little something I made. A cute little bowl out of Maple. Wish you could see it in person. Pictures don't capture the beautiful grain on this bowl. More pictures coming.
