**A Brief History of Peruvian Accents**

In 1999, while visiting Cusco, Peru, with Kevin Todd Shaw and some friends from England, Cyprus, and the United States, I fell in love with the Cusco School of Art, its colonial architecture, and the rich native culture stemming from the Andean heritage of its people, artisans, and delicious food. While touring San Blas, the artistic area of Cusco with its zigzag streets, I met an artist named Ernesto Zuñiga Grajeda, who later became my business partner, and together we began selling Cusco paintings.

Later, Kevin and I opened a boutique hotel in San Blas, which marked the beginning of Peruvian Accents Hotel. The venture eventually transformed into a store selling pottery and paintings. We later established a Peruvian Accents store in Long Beach, California where Kevin had the idea to sell sweaters and blankets.

In 2015, we moved the store to our new home in Pine Mountain Club. It has been ten years since we opened the store in the village, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the company of our neighbors and friends, who are also our customers, in this beautiful mountain paradise. We have so many stories to share with all of you.

Tomorrow, we will participate in the village Christmas parade for the first time as a gesture of gratitude for your continued support.

This painting comes from the Amazon rainforest. It's an oil, but not on canvas. The artist used bark from a tree as a surface for the painting. The painting was created by a Bora native of the Amazon.
