Schmucker’s Antiques in Pioneer, Ohio 43554 will be open this Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 11a.m till 4p.m. We are loaded with real Antiques. Oil and electric lamps, china and early American pressed glass, antique furniture, old postcards, lots of old framed prints including Currier and Ives, antique clocks, wall bracket oil lamps, hanging parlor ceiling lamps and more. If you haven’t been to our shop, we would love to see you here. Remember, we are only open on Saturdays. Like always, if you think the price is to high, ask for a better price. I Deal. Please contact the Williams County Commissioners to show your support for denying the request to run water and discharge lines for AquaBounty in the county right of way.

We suggest that people focus on eminent domain in their comments, not your opposition to AquaBounty.

The decision by the commissioners on March 6 to deny the request was based on outside legal counsel * which stated that the water and wastewater lines would be for the use of a private company, AquaBounty, so these lines cannot be put in the county's public right of way.

The dispute is about the use of eminent domain.
Eminent domain is the process by which government may seize private property for PUBLIC use. The use of eminent domain should not be used for a private corporation like AquaBounty. AquaBounty obviously failed to do their "due diligence" before they began construction. Their lack of poor planning should not be an excuse to abuse eminent domain. NO EMINENT DOMAIN FOR CORPORATE GAIN

* The attorney consulted for a legal opinion on the Village of Pioneer's request is Aaron Glascow. He represents governments and municipalities all over Ohio, including counties, townships and municipalities -- and has experience in a variety of areas related to ownership of real property, including zoning, annexation and real estate taxation.
