I’ve been thinking about how much personal styling and interior design have in common.
The clients who work with these professionals aren’t necessarily lost. Many of my clients already have a strong sense of self and know what they like.
What they don’t have - or don’t want to spend - is the time it takes to search, compare, coordinate, edit, and make all of the little decisions required to bring that vision together.
You, as the client, bring your preferences, history, lifestyle, and point of view. We bring the expertise, resources, and time to translate those things into something cohesive, functional, and distinctly YOU.
And I’ve noticed our clients tend to value many of the same things:
They want their surroundings and their wardrobe to feel grounded. Like coming home to themselves.
They have full lives and recognize the value of outsourcing.
And they tend to value quality over quantity. Choosing well instead of choosing often.
In that way, working with a professional like a designer or stylist isn’t simply about clothes. It can be a form of life optimization.
And that’s one of the reasons I love what I do.
