Six more weeks of Winter, eh? No thanks, Phil!

I’m thinking Spring by keeping some fresh flowers around, changing up the accent pillows and adding some (more!) houseplants. 🌱 Just few easy ways to brighten the cold and dreary days. ☀️

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!?!! 🏈🖤💛

A big game weekend calls for a proper setup.

We gave this Steelers fan cave a full redesign—trading heavy, dark, outdated finishes for a cleaner layout, layered lighting, and a more intentional mix of comfort and personality. The custom cabinet with a pull-out bar was a game changer, adding function without sacrificing floor space (because snacks + drinks should always be within arm’s reach on game day!!). And that custom hand-painted Steelers stripe…well that’s a touchdown if there ever was one!

Swipe to see the before ➡️ After contrast—proof that the right layout, storage, and styling can completely change how a room feels and functions.

Designed for watching, hosting, cheering, and reliving every big play!

HERE WE GO👏🏻👏🏻🏈🖤💛👏🏻👏🏻

Last week, unveiled the newly renovated Civic Center—and the response was incredible. 💙💛

The goal was to bring this once-vibrant community hub back to life as a place to gather, celebrate, and connect. From the moment you enter, the space was designed to feel intentional and meaningful.

In partnership with the Brentwood Historical Society, we curated a “mini museum” in the entry which shares the story of the building, the Borough, and its first responders.

Beyond that is a flexible event space elevated with lifelike greenery and a stunning 6’ x 10’ original painting by Freddie Bainbridge.

And the favorite? Sully’s Rec Room—a nostalgic lounge filled with games and memorabilia honoring the beloved dance hall that once existed on this very site. There’s nothing else like it in the area, and I’m so proud to have helped create this unique and special space.

This project was deeply personal. I grew up in Brentwood. I attended and hosted events in this very building. I still have great friends and memories here. Being able to create something for the community that helped to shape me is something I will never forget!

Last week I shared the post about the enhancements being made to the Civic Center - a project I’m very excited to celebrate at the Ribbon Cutting this evening. (Hint: Stay tuned…. )

But before work began on the Civic Center, I had the honor of making enhancements to the Borough Building.

For the Council Chambers, common walkways, and administrative offices, vintage maps, historic artifacts and fresh contemporary artwork were blended to create spaces that feel both rooted in Brentwood’s story and elevated for how the building is used today.

Two design highlights there: turning an original street map provided by the Brentwood Borough Historical Society into wallpaper, thereby creating an interesting focal point for Council Chambers, and local artist Freddie Bainbridge created a large, tactile and beautiful encaustic painting from an historic photograph of Brownsville Road, the main thruway in the Borough. It’s on display in the main hallway there for all to enjoy.

The goal of this project was simple: honor the community’s past while bringing in a fresh, modern energy. And seeing the finished vibe come alive? Chef’s kiss, 10/10, would design again!

Here’s to spaces that inspire the good work done inside them. 🤍🏛️

I’ve been a busy bee in my old ‘hood this year! More to come about the amazing projects I’ve had the great pleasure to work on with Brentwood Borough in the next few days, but as we prepare for the grand Ribbon Cutting of the Civic Center, here’s a little something to whet your whistle.

Shout out to drywallers and plasterers everywhere! This work is not for the weak-shouldered!

Doin’ a little basement reno here at the Casa and I’m getting my hands dirty. For real!

I feel first-hand knowledge of HOW the work is done - the time and effort it takes - makes me a better designer and communicator, with both my clients and the tradespeople I worth with. Plus, I just enjoy the sense of accomplishment that comes from building something from scratch.

I have mad respect and gratitude for the Trades. They have so much practical knowledge and skill! They (literally) provide the framework upon which all else is built. Without these folks, I certainly wouldn’t be able to do what I love.

Shhhhh! 🤫Want to know a secret? That huge manifold is completely and easily accessible behind that gorgeous tambour wall! 😉 Can you find the seam??

It’s been a while since we did a post, so here we go! This new build came with a big challenge- hiding, but leaving total access to, that gigantic manifold.

Concealing any obvious access was priority one. Enter tambour paneling! It’s lightweight AND impossible to find the seam! A section of this wall slides and lifts out behind the faux bulkhead just in case the manifold would ever need to be reached.

Making things functional and pretty was of course important also, and that can be tricky in a basement bathroom where there are no windows and the footprint is typically smaller. We used a custom floating vanity, larger format tile and an open shower to keep things feeling roomy. The tambour’s vertical “stripe” naturally draws the eye up, also creating the illusion of a larger space. The wood and stone materials complimented by some organic textures and art add that natural, spa-like feel.
